Morgana

I say this. I’ve never met anyone who says it with a “gaw” sound… must depend on where you live :person_shrugging::person_shrugging:

I have a friend names [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] and she goes by ‘Mor-garn-a’

Yeah, I’ve always said it like Mor-gan-ah basically. Like Morgue-anna. He says it like Mor-gaw-na. Like there’s an h or a w in there. I always just associated it as being another -anna name. It seems maybe I’m saying it the British way (I’m Canadian) and it very much depends on where you live. So maybe I’m not wrong, it just depends. I love it the way I’ve always said it, I don’t mind it the way he says it, but it’ll take some getting used to, and it will have lost some of its sparkle sadly. So maybe I will continue saying it my way since so many of you say it that way too. At least it’s not just me!!

The middle sound in Mor-gah-na would be more like Arn than [name_u]Anne[/name_u], it’s an elongated sound, hope that’s helpful!

I read it as Morg-ANNE-uh (kinda like [name_u]Montana[/name_u]). But there are so few times a middle name is read aloud by someone who doesn’t know better, so I don’t think this is a big issue. Really the only time I can think of is potentially at a graduation, but they usually/should check on all name pronunciation (not that they get it 100% correct), and a middle name isn’t always used then anyway. In my opinion the middle name is a place where you can take a bit of risk with a name that’s special to you, and [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] is really lovely.

This. This is closest to how I say it. With the emphasis on [name_u]Anne[/name_u]. Why is it so hard to write out pronunciation, haha. Thanks for this. I’ll keep it in mind that as a middle, it may not matter so much, and there might be more freedom there.
