Moses or Moshe

Playing around with tons of names, and don’t know if I like [name_m]Moshe[/name_m] or [name_m]Moses[/name_m] best.

First name will be [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] and that’s certain (yes, I’m still mulling over things, if you recognize me, ha)…

[name_m]Moses[/name_m] actually fits the vibe and theme of big brothers
[name_m]Job[/name_m] ([name_u]Joby[/name_u]) [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] &
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] ([name_u]Bo[/name_u]) [name_m]Apollos[/name_m] &
…
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_m]Moses[/name_m] (?)

I can see it’s not wildly popular (ha, most our top names are not…) but the more I think of the meaning (Savior) paired with [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] (the one who will be sent/peace)…the more it all fits. But I’m also digging the [name_m]Moshe[/name_m] version.

Anyone think one fits better than the other?

I personally prefer [name_m]Moses[/name_m] here because I find [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_m]Moshe[/name_m] a little too sh-heavy. [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_m]Moses[/name_m] is cool!

Thanks for your input! At first, I thought “no way!” with the name [name_m]Moses[/name_m], in any form! But it kept coming to my attention…and as I thought about the man it’s after, the meaning, and even the sound…it is quickly becoming my favorite!

First, I love these 3 boys names! I like the strong O sounds and that they all have -s and -l sounds, too, but not too rhymy matchy. Plus I’m a fan of these less-used Biblical names. You’ve reminded me to add [name_m]Moses[/name_m] to our boy list.

As for your question: I think [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_m]Moses[/name_m] flows better than [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_m]Moshe[/name_m].

Thank you!!! Pointing out those matching sounds encouraged me so much! I do want them to match but it’s nice to know it works even when not exact!!! The meaning and strength of the men who bore the names was always my main push, but I was looking for the other things too. I just felt pulled toward [name_m]Moses[/name_m] for various reasons (I think it was the [name_m]Lord[/name_m]!), and I do think it’s the missing piece!

Yes, liking [name_m]Moses[/name_m] more than [name_m]Moshe[/name_m] too!
