Moses

Hey Berries!

I’ve been thinking about the name [name]Moses[/name] recently. I think it has a lovely, sleek sound. Plus, the nickname Mosey is really cute! [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Moses[/name] is usable? Or is it too “star baby” – does it remind you too much of [name]Gwyneth[/name] Paltrow’s son? I’m fully Jewish and was raised in Conservative Judaism, so does that make the name for “accepted” if I ever use it? Curious to hear what you think!

I like the name [name]Moses[/name], but I find nn Mosey to be way too cutesy and also makes me think “Mosey along”. I don’t think [name]Mo[/name] would be too bad of a bad nickname though, if you really are set on finding one. As for the Jewish aspect, I really can’t help you there but, as an outsider, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be accepted to name your child after such an important figure to the Jewish faith. I wouldn’t worry about looking like a Paltrow copycat, especially this long after their son was born. Personally I wouldn’t think of it if I met a little [name]Moses[/name]. I even knew a [name]Moses[/name] in real life, an older man probably 50s or 60s, and he was a fantastic guy.

I recently met 2 brothers at church by the name [name]Moses[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name]. Their Dad calls them [name]Mo[/name] and Ez.

Nickname [name]Moze[/name] is cute too. I think [name]Moses[/name] is a wonderful name and totally usable. I went to school with a [name]Moses[/name] and he was very handsome and charming.

I think [name]Moses[/name] is totally usable. Only a very, very small percentage of the population knows that [name]Gwyneth[/name] has a son named [name]Moses[/name], so I think you’re safe on the starbaby front. As for the Jewish aspect, isn’t [name]Moshe[/name] popular in the Orthodox community? You said you’re Conservative but I can’t imagine [name]Moses[/name] causing any more of a stir than [name]Moshe[/name].

I love [name]Moses[/name]. Coincidentally, I named my dog [name]Moses[/name], so now I can never use it for a child! We call him [name]Mo[/name]. I think it would be adorable on a little boy!

My neighbour has a big golden lab named [name]Moses[/name] and they call him mosey, I think it could be cute on a little boy and I love the nn mosey.

I know quite a few [name]Moses[/name]'s actually (it’s pretty common Hispanic name), most of them go by [name]Mo[/name]. I really like the name and if my husband didn’t already have a cousin named this, it would be on our list. So yeah, totally usable.

[name]Moses[/name] is totally usable! I love it. I met a guy with the name [name]Solomon[/name] the other day. (He went by [name]Sol[/name].) If [name]Solomon[/name] is usable, [name]Moses[/name] is usable.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Moses[/name]! I think Mosey is adorable but would probably only work when he’s young – when he gets older maybe [name]Moze[/name]?

I love [name]Moses[/name]! I do think of [name]Gwyneth[/name] Paltrow, though, and I think a lot of others will think that’s where you got it. If that doesn’t bother you, I say go for it.

Hey, [name]Love[/name] [name]Moses[/name], but love Mosey even more! Mosey is the name of my boyfriend, sooooooo.

[name]Do[/name] you like it? It is up to you?
