What is the most awful name spelling you have ever seen? I thought I had seen bad until today… I met a littler girl named J@ylei Nykh0le. I used the symbols since her name is so unique I did not want to put it in searches. This name made my eyes hurt just by looking at it. It might not have been such a bad name spelled properly but this one just took the cake for me. What is the worst you have ever seen?
I was watching an episode of Toddlers & Tiaras tonight and one little girl’s name was Alycesaundra (prn a-less-[name]AH[/name]-andra). Yikes.
Oh and her twin sister’s name was [name]Giavanna[/name]. Must be quite a mouthful when calling them.
I’ve seen [name]Nick[/name]'cole, Looseigh, Kailym, Rozey, Iyla, Breighdan, Breighla, and [name]Steffanie[/name].
I met a mom once who had two girls, All@hsyn M@hreigh (she called her Syn shudder) and K@hlyn Alekz@ndrah. Yes, like [name]Allison[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Colin[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]… She was expecting twin girls, and was considering these:
Elltyn Klahrhys ([name]Elton[/name] [name]Clarisse[/name])
Aubryn Rehnae (Aubryn [name]Renee[/name])
Dareyn Ohlivea ([name]Darren[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]?)
Brightyn Wihloh ([name]Brighton[/name] [name]Willow[/name])
Aedyn [name]Bayleigh[/name] ([name]Aidan[/name] [name]Bailey[/name])
Teagyn Dehlielah ([name]Teagan[/name] [name]Delilah[/name])
Schuylyn/Skyelyn
Kairyn ([name]Karen[/name])
Starlyn
Jaedyn/Haedyn
Autyn ([name]Autumn[/name]?!)
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such horrid spellings in my life.
I started to watch Toddlers and Tiaras a while back and some of the names are horrific! I did see Alycesaunra and wanted to cry for the poor little girl - could imagine learning to spell that? The other one I saw was Seryniti ([name]Serenity[/name]) or something along those lines, the spelling was bad.
Although the show did actually introduce me to the name [name]Eden[/name], so that was a positive for it.
In the UK spellings aren’t a major issue here but I’ve seen some odd choices…
[name]Jaeden[/name]
Baeyleigh
Thaiyuh
Elleei ([name]Ellie[/name])
[name]Eryn[/name] (I always see this, I know not the worst but it really bugs me lol!)
Finlaye (why the ‘e’??)
Macorely ([name]Macauley[/name])
I know an [name]Eryn[/name] as well, I didn’t even realise that was how she spelt it until I saw her name written on a school book. Surprised me as both her siblings have traditional spellings of their names.
Other odd spellings:
Taela (on a boy)
[name]Nataly[/name]
Adum (though I’ve only seen his name spelt on Facebook, so it may not necessarily be what’s on his birth certificate)
Bhenjamin (nn Bhen - don’t get why the random ‘h’)
Elidh (prn [name]Ellie[/name] - think it’s a nn for something though)
I am normally very lenient with respellings of names (e.g. [name]Alecia[/name] or [name]Alisia[/name] instead of [name]Alicia[/name] wouldn’t bother me) but I will never understand why anyone would want to turn a name into a cumbersome mess of letters. I mean, some respellings are done to make a name look more attractive to the namer, which is fine - say, [name]Lia[/name]/[name]Lea[/name]/[name]Leea[/name]/Leha over [name]Leah[/name], though I prefer [name]Leah[/name] - but why would anyone turn it into Lieeighyyah? That spelling would just not be attractive to anyone.
The worst I have seen are L.i.l.l.iee and Kai.h.c.ee.
Met a [name]Brittnay[/name] today. That was a new one for me.
[name]Mya[/name]…it just bugs me sooooo much!!!its like MMMMMMMMMMMM ya…BLECH also [name]Myah[/name]…[name]MIA[/name]…that would be Meee a …
[name]Maya[/name] and [name]Maia[/name] and [name]Maja[/name] are the ways that you should spell it.GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
The worst one I have personally come across is Khamren ([name]Cameron[/name])…his twin brother’s name also starts with “kh.”
I know a Brittnye. Not terrible, but it totally confuses me every time I see her name. I also had an ex that wanted to legally change [name]Michael[/name] to Mykl. Not sure if he ever did.
My step daughters name is [name]Cecelia[/name], spelled Cesylia. I hate that not only is that bad enough, but she goes by Cece spelled Cesy… which in my opinion does not spell Cece at all!
In the “real world”:
Airuin = [name]Irene[/name] I think it’s pretty but I’d never get that out if that spelling.
Nawledje - Knowledge
Baile - [name]Bailey[/name] [I think she spells it that way]
Subrena - [name]Sabrina[/name] [or something like that I know it started as Sub]
[name]Khloe[/name] - [name]Chloe[/name]
Kimberle - [name]Kimberly[/name]
[name]Ravyn[/name] / [name]Ravin[/name] - [name]Raven[/name]
a few more but I can’t think right now.
I was in line yesterday behind a woman with a newborn in her carrier, and the blanket draped over her said “[name]Jae[/name]'ci”. Why? [name]Just[/name], why?
[name]Alexis[/name]
J’den
Saryniti was the toddlers and Tiaras girl and for a couple minutes I couldn’t figure out that it was [name]Serenity[/name]…
And a lady I know has two, girl and boy, [name]Kamryn[/name] and Kw!nn. Kw!nn, for a boy. Well, with i, ot ! Lol
Also I myself am guilty of random H-ing my kid (Khyler), but that wasn’t what I wanted to name him anyway, and I was only 20 and hadn’t found any amazing sites to tell me I’m stupid haha
Cesy sounds gross to me… Not like Cece
I have a friend with a son named Khonner. A Treysin (made-up anyway, but could have been spelled better). And the greatest of all…Quwhn. Yes, that random jumble of letters is pronounced “[name]Quinn[/name].” I just don’t understand. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] for a girl, and told her that, but she thinks she’s doing her daughter a favor. I also work in a warehouse and saw shipping labels for both a [name]Mykle[/name] and a Steeven (hoping that one was a typo) in the same day.
I know a [name]Mykel[/name]… girl
The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Chrisjun ([name]Christian[/name]) and Jewlian ([name]Julian[/name]).
[name]How[/name] could I forget…I’ve also met an [name]Aaden[/name] and an [name]Ayden[/name].
