Murphy as a nickname for...?

Hey everyone!

I am kind of loving the name [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] right now. I know it’s a stand alone name but I am wondering if you have any suggestions for names where [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] could be a nickname.

Thanks!

Maybe something like [name_m]Merlin[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m], [name_m]Melvin[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m], [name_m]Manuel[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] or [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]? Or maybe [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]?
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] maybe, [name_u]Memphis[/name_u]? [name_m]Maximus[/name_m]?

I’m with the above poster. [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] isn’t a nickname of anything specific, so a mashup of the first and middle name would be clever.

I think any name that shares some of the same sounds or letters as [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] can work as a first name alone. I’d love to know if there’s anything here you like.

Girls: [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f], [name_f]Myfanwy[/name_f], [name_f]Madelief[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Murielle[/name_f], [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f], [name_f]Melody[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], [name_m]Gramercy[/name_m], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f]

Boys: [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m], [name_m]Mervyn[/name_m], Mycroft, [name_m]Manfred[/name_m], [name_m]Macarthur[/name_m], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_m]Timothy[/name_m], [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m], [name_m]Gramercy[/name_m], [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], Wolfram

Thank you for the suggestions. If we have a boy the middle name will most likely be [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so unfortunately the mashup idea won’t wort. [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is pretty cute though.

I think [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is great!

My son is [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] (3 1/2) and we still love his name. Its strong and unique but familiar enough where people arent confused.

We chose it because of its meaning as my husband comes from a long line of deep sea fisherman.

I will say this It does seem to be pretty popular amongst dogs/cats/horses as long as that doesnt bother you go for it.

[name_u]Murphy[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is such a handsome name! I would use [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] straight-up.
