Musical names

I am adding to my list of potential names for my daughter and I would like to find some options that honor my father. He is a violin and viola player/ teacher. So far the only musical names I have found that I like are [name_f]Serenade[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]. [name_f]Serenade[/name_f] is a bit out there for me, and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is far too common. I would love to hear your suggestions! Bonus points if the names sound good with her middle and last name
[name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] L_ g
Or
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] L
_g

Thank you!

[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f]
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]
[name_u]Harmony[/name_u] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f]
[name_f]Melody[/name_f] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f]

I realize that [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] isn’t REALLY a musical name, but it kind of reminded me of “[name_f]Arabesque[/name_f]”.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] these help!

Thank you for the suggestions! None of these are really resonating with me though, I guess I might have to give up on the musical name idea.

Anyone else have any other suggestions? Or opinions on [name_f]Serenade[/name_f]?

One that has not quite caught on yet is [name_f]Arietta[/name_f](as in [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] in C). I think with the [name_f]Aria[/name_f] craze, [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] would sound familiar enough, yet very different given the [name_f]Etta[/name_f] endings are not used (typically seen in those vintage clunky names that people seem so polarized by.)
[name_f]Arietta[/name_f] [name_f]Annmarie[/name_f] sounds darling.

I would not use [name_f]Serenade[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] to [name_f]Marianne[/name_f].

Oh I really like that actually, I’ll add that to my list, thank you!

Yea as much as I like the idea of using [name_f]Serenade[/name_f], I think its just a bit much for me to actually use. I like [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] better but I’m willing to use [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] if the first name flows better with [name_f]Marianne[/name_f].

I tried to scour for the more uncommon. Some are a bit silly but I was having fun.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] thought I would drop in to suggest [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]! The meaning is “little song.”

Oh that’s really sweet I like that a lot. Is it wearable though? Its not too wordy?

I think you’ve gotten a lot of ideas from other berries who have more substantial music knowledge than me. However, I figured I’d pop in here and give you some names that sound like they have a musical quality in case you’re interested in that as well!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Viola[/name_f]?

A couple people have suggested [name_f]Viola[/name_f], how are y’all pronouncing it?

I second [name_f]Viola[/name_f]. I pronounce it [name_f]Vi[/name_f]-Oh-luh. Other names I like but I’m pretty sure other have already suggested are [name_u]Lyric[/name_u], [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Melody[/name_f], and [name_u]Harmony[/name_u]. What about [name_f]Carol[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]/a or even Choral, as in Choir music. Or using song birds like [name_u]Robin[/name_u] or [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. Its a bit of a stretch, I know… Medley has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I think its totally usable now to. It would fit right in with names like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] and [name_u]Marley[/name_u].

That’s how I was pronouncing it as well.
[name_f]Melody[/name_f] is starting to grow on me.
My parents had [name_f]Melody[/name_f] and [name_f]Carol[/name_f] on their list for me as well haha. I don’t want to use [name_f]Carol[/name_f] though as that was my fathers mothers name and I never knew her.
I do like [name_f]Lark[/name_f], it is a bit of a stretch but i have also been considering [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] because it means songbird.
I really like Medley, but it brings up the same concerns as [name_f]Serenade[/name_f] for me. I don’t know if its too much of a word, and I don’t know if it would grow well.

[name_f]Viola[/name_f] can be pronounced Vy-la

[name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] is my favorite name suggested so far, closely followed by [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] is too “wordy”. It would be a unique choice for sure, but I think it’s very beautiful without sounding too frilly.

[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_f]Octavie[/name_f]
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
