Use it! I love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]! I’ve practiced saying it with [name_f]Diamond[/name_f], Dial, Diamont, [name_m]Dima[/name_m], etc. I think [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] works perfectly well with any of those.
Thank you boyandgirl. It’s nice to hear the reassurance!
I agree–if you love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], use it! Very pretty name! I think it sounds fine with a [name_f]Di[/name_f]- last name.
It is a little sing-songy, but I actually kind of like those types of combinations! [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is a beautiful name! I say go for it
Definitely use it! You both love it, assonance can sometimes be a great thing making her name more memorable to others and realistically how often will she even hear her name said in full? I say use it.
It depends how the “di” is prnounced. If it’s like “[name_f]Dee[/name_f]” then I think it sounds bad. If it’s like “die”, I dont think its bad at all.
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Diamond[/name_f] or [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] sounds fine. [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_m]Dijon[/name_m] or [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] Dimarche sounds odd.
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is great; if you’re feeling it, use it!
Not to subscribe any type of specific lifestyle to your daughter, but it’s very likely that she’ll take her spouse’s last name one day, and that would change it altogether.
I like sing songy names! I’d choose it on purpose
I love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]! If you feel like it might be a problem (though honestly, I think it isn’t) then you could use [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f], which [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is actually a diminutive of. Or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], because [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f] is a variant of that. Beautiful name, I hope you stay with it!
I’m glad someone is considering [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]! It’s such an underused gem. I say go for it.
With out knowing the last name it’s a little hard (I understand not sharing it). But I agree with previous poster it depends if it’s pronounced “dee” or “die”.
Regardless I think it could work. Give it a little bit and practice saying the name over and over. Ask a few close friends or family their thoughts. If you truly love it and it won’t cause emotional trauma (which it won’t) I think you should stick with [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]!!
I love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]! I think you should use it–it isn’t very often that both mom and dad are in love with the name. I think it would sound fine with a [name_f]Di[/name_f]- last name. I honestly don’t think anyone will notice. There’s also a good chance that she will marry when she’s an adult and take her husbands last name. But even if she never married or if she does marry and keeps her last name I think it’ll be fine.
