My (Current) Girls List

I’m new to these boards, but have been a fan of this site for some time. I am a long, long ways away from having a child, but as a name nerd and compulsive list-maker, I thought it time to get some feedback on some of my favorite girls names. Thanks!

[name]Norah[/name] (the H on the end has special meaning)

[name]Hi[/name]

[name]Audrey[/name] - I love the connection to [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn but I don’t really love the name.

[name]Caroline[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this so much, such a timeless classic. I also love [name]Coraline[/name].

[name]Claire[/name] - This is my favourite spelling of [name]Claire[/name], but I don’t love the name, but it is the sort of name I’d love to see on soemone else’s child

[name]Clara[/name] - love this, I think its prettier than [name]Claire[/name] because of its delicate sound, [name]Clara[/name] is one of my favourites

[name]Daphne[/name] - I love [name]Daphne[/name], it sounds so retro and chic and fun!

[name]Delia[/name] - I’m not a fan of [name]Delia[/name], I do really love [name]Cordelia[/name] though

[name]Eleanor[/name] - Very popular where I live and nine times out of ten it gets shortened to [name]Ellie[/name], I think it is a nice name though.

[name]Eliza[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this so much, I could never use it because of how close it sounds to my name though. It is such a gorgeous name though.

[name]Eve[/name] - Really nice, I prefer [name]Eva[/name], but it is one of my absolute favourite one syllable names that doesn’t soudn like a nn

[name]Fiona[/name] - I’d probably love this if I didn’t have such bad connotations with it.

[name]Frances[/name] - see [name]Fiona[/name]

[name]Jane[/name] - I like [name]Eve[/name] more but I still love [name]Jane[/name]. I love its connection to [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] and I think its beautiful

[name]Juliet[/name] - [name]Love[/name], spelt exactly like this, I love [name]Julia[/name] as well but I love [name]Juliet[/name] more.

[name]Kate[/name] - [name]Love[/name] as a nn for [name]Kathryn[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name]

[name]Lila[/name] - I really like this one, but even with its popularity I prefer [name]Lily[/name]

[name]Lucy[/name] - I love [name]Lucy[/name], especially as a nn for [name]Lucinda[/name]

[name]Mae[/name] - I prefer [name]Mei[/name] or [name]May[/name] but I just don’t really like it. I prefer [name]June[/name] or [name]April[/name] for month names

[name]Norah[/name] (the H on the end has special meaning) - I love [name]Norah[/name] with the H! One of my favourites

[name]Tess[/name] - [name]Love[/name] so much as a nn for [name]Tessa[/name], such a gorgeous name

[name]Verity[/name] - One of my favoutite virtues, I love how its not as popular as [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Hope[/name], I love the meaning. I think its so pretty

[name]Vivienne[/name] - I love french names and this is no exception but there is a big Brangelina connection here. [name]Adore[/name] nn [name]Vivi[/name] though

do you like any of these?

nice list

Thanks [name]Elena[/name]! I REALLY love [name]Alice[/name]. My only concern is the Twilight connotation? That may be a stretch but I am always paranoid about that for some reason (same with [name]Emmett[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], etc.). I also like [name]Camille[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name] (especially as a middle name).

I feel like I should like [name]Audra[/name], but for some reason I can’t picture it on a baby girl. Not sure why. I like [name]Annabel[/name] but I’m afraid of it becoming the next [name]Isabel[/name] (although I do love [name]Isabel[/name], just not its popularity).

Okay, now I’m rambling. Thanks again for the suggestions

[name]Audrey[/name]- I love [name]Audrey[/name] (as well as [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn  but it’s rising fast in popularity.
[name]Caroline[/name]- I like [name]Caroline[/name] but don’t like when it’s shortened down to [name]Carrie[/name] or the like.
[name]Claire[/name]- I prefer [name]Claire[/name] as a middle name. I find [name]Clara[/name] better suited as a first name.
[name]Clara[/name]- see [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]- This is the type of name that I would love to hear on someone else’s child, just not my own.
[name]Delia[/name]- I like it more as a nn for [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]. It’s been on my favorites for a long time.
[name]Eliza[/name]- I like [name]Eliza[/name]. It feels like a spunky and fresh turn on the popular [name]Elizabeth[/name] (which it is
[name]Eve[/name]- I actually really like [name]Eve[/name]. I wouldn’t use it personally, but I really like it’s classic, elegant sound.
[name]Fiona[/name]- [name]Fiona[/name] is cool…
[name]Frances[/name]- I’ve heard too many boys with the name [name]Francis[/name] that it no longer holds much for girls for me.
[name]Jane[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jane[/name]!
[name]Juliet[/name]- ditto [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]- ditto again.
[name]Lila[/name]- I prefer [name]Lily[/name]. [name]Lila[/name] is also destined to become very popular (of course, so is [name]Lily[/name]…)
[name]Lucy[/name]- I prefer [name]Lucy[/name] as a nn for [name]Lucia[/name] or [name]Lucille[/name].
[name]Mae[/name]- I like it as a middle name…
[name]Norah[/name] (the H on the end has special meaning)- it’s pretty but I prefer it as a nn for [name]Eleanora/name
[name]Tess[/name]- I really like [name]Tess[/name], especially when it’s a nn for [name]Theresa[/name]. [name]Tessa[/name] is very cut as well.
[name]Verity[/name]- It’s nice…
[name]Vivienne[/name]- I love [name]Vivienne[/name], especially spelled the French way like this

I love so many names on your list  Good luck!

As you can tell, I really love your list!

Take care!

I love your taste!

[name]Audrey[/name] - I love this, but it is getting quite popular.
[name]Caroline[/name] - I adore.
[name]Claire[/name] - not as stunning as some of your other options, in my opinion.
[name]Clara[/name] - wonderful, vintage, refined, light, feminine … I love it!
[name]Daphne[/name] - very pretty.
[name]Delia[/name] - quite nice … I prefer [name]Cordelia[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name], personally.
[name]Eleanor[/name] - I love.
[name]Eliza[/name] - pretty and reasonably unusual … I quite like it.
[name]Eve[/name] - a fantastic name, slightly ruined by the popularity of [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] at the moment, in my opinion.
[name]Fiona[/name] - I’m a little on the fence with this one.
[name]Frances[/name] - I like it, but I don’t think it’s the best of your options.
[name]Jane[/name] - a good, sturdy classic, but compared to some of your other options it feels a little bare.
[name]Juliet[/name] - I love! She will frequently get [name]Romeo[/name]-related comments, though … I know two Juliets, and one doesn’t mind at all, but the other hates it.
[name]Kate[/name] - spunky and pretty, but as a fn I feel it should be short for [name]Katherine[/name] … even though I much prefer just [name]Kate[/name].
[name]Lila[/name] - very pretty, but also set to become very popular due to the popularity of [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name].
[name]Lucy[/name] - so sweet; an accessable vintage choice.
[name]Mae[/name] - nice, but I don’t think it really stands up to first name position … it’s just been a mn for too long.
[name]Norah[/name] - a beautiful, unusual, vintage choice - I adore this one.
[name]Tess[/name] - I really like it, but all on its own it’s a little hiss-y … perhaps [name]Tessa[/name] or Contessa nn [name]Tess[/name]?
[name]Verity[/name] - I adore.
[name]Vivienne[/name] - quite nice.

I wouldn’t worry about the Twilight connotation with [name]Jasper[/name] - it was already popular over here in [name]England[/name], and is a nice, vintage choice (and my mn). One of my sons is named [name]Jasper[/name], and we have never have any Twilight-related comments (and he’s young enough that we could have chosen it because of the books).
