My Evening Nymph

Hespera [name]Iolanthe[/name]
Hespera [name]Cymbeline[/name]
Hespera [name]Amethyst[/name]
Hespera [name]Octavia[/name]
Hespera [name]Penelope[/name]
Hespera [name]Cybele[/name]
Hespera [name]Calypso[/name]
Hespera [name]Idalia[/name]

Hespera [name]Arcadia[/name] [name]Eos[/name]
Hespera Caliadne [name]Aurielle[/name]
Hespera [name]Arethusa[/name] Aegine
Hespera Erytheia [name]Vesta[/name]
Hespera [name]Aletheia[/name] Aurai
Hespera [name]Mimosa[/name] Meliae
Hespera [name]Urania[/name] Chrysothemis
Hespera Euthymia Calleis

Celandine? It’s on my personal list since… months ago. I love it.

I [name]LOVE[/name] missusaytch’s suggestion of [name]Aurielle[/name] - that’s definitely the name I think of with the description you had, especially the imagery of dusk. I also get that feeling with [name]Aurore[/name], but it is a bit hard to pronounce. The Au- for sure. I also think [name]Ophelia[/name] is nice.

A golden nymph = [name]Xanthe[/name] [name]Nerissa[/name]

Wow! Went to bed and had a nice long sleep and wake up to this! [name]Lucky[/name] me! I’m doing a big blanket thanks, THANK YOU!

I love these (and they’re boyfriend approved): [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Aurielle[/name], [name]Calanthe[/name], [name]Carmel[/name], Celandine, Chrysanthe, Elbereth, Emeris, Eridani, [name]Eve[/name], Gloriana, [name]Jinan[/name], [name]Lore[/name], Melanthe, [name]Melia[/name], [name]Melora[/name], Miellé, Nasrin, [name]Nerissa[/name], [name]Oriel[/name], Ostara, [name]Pallas[/name], [name]Soleil[/name], Tasnim and [name]Yvaine[/name].

Missu (can’t be bothered writing that whole thing all the time!): [name]Lovely[/name] suggestions, right up my alley! I do love Frangipani, boyfriend thinks it’s too out there. But it’s beautiful… I have a friend with a daugher named [name]Plum[/name] actually!

[name]Emma[/name]: I love Hespera [name]Eos[/name] Rosebay too, but my love isn’t certain he likes [name]Eos[/name] and Rosebay together.

Jemama: I’m excited too… Thanks for the lovely suggestions, Eridani is a beauty!

[name]Blade[/name]: Great suggesions, I basically love them all. I’m seriously in love with Arabic names. Hespera [name]Calanthe[/name] [name]Lore[/name] is stunning, and Hespera Chrysanthe [name]Eve[/name] likewise.

[name]Lexi[/name]: You know, the first combo we thought of was Hespera [name]Oriel[/name] Rosebay. Surname starts with E. That’s the word for whore in Norwegian so no good… [name]Elva[/name] is lovely by the way, but I don’t think it’s right for Hespera.

Phloxie: Boyfriend vetoed [name]Atalanta[/name]! So mean, but that’s that.

[name]Rowan[/name]: Due in seven weeks today! It’s getting close, which is why this needs to be done. Boyfriend has name commitment issues, so I want to see every name before we make a decision, so I know we made the right one.

c@29: I actually really like Erytheia, but as Hespera and Erytheia were sisters, it feels like a clash.

Auila was meant to be [name]Aquila[/name] by the way, the q was not cooperative.

I kinda like Hesperia Tynneson!

Of all of the names that your boyfriend is on board with, I really like Hespera [name]Aurielle[/name] [name]Yvaine[/name] and Hespera [name]Anastasia[/name] [name]Lore[/name]. I really love [name]Yvaine[/name] for you. When I would picture someone to represent a bright evening nymph, it would be that character. [name]Lovely[/name]! I wish I has some actual suggestions, but you always get such amazing suggestions from others that it’s hard not to find gems that have already been mentioned.

Instead of Frangipani, have you considered Plumeria?

Also, borrowing some of [name]Blade[/name]'s ideas, I really like Hespera Melanthe [name]Eve[/name] (or Hespera [name]Eve[/name] Melanthe). So floral and vespertine! The “mel” of Melanthe sneaks in imagery of honey.

Aubergine popped into my head.

[name]Illuminata[/name]

[name]Lumina[/name]

[name]Twila[/name]

[name]Lunette[/name]

[name]Bright[/name] (read about a little girl whose name is [name]Bright[/name] the other day)

Ooh, I like @minisia’s point about the double-meaning of [name]Mel[/name]. Hespera Melanthe [name]Yvaine[/name]? Stars, flowers, honey, twilight.

Hespera Melanthe [name]Yvaine[/name] is gorgeous! Or Hespera Tasnim [name]Yvaine[/name], Hespera Melanthe Tasnim… Hespera [name]Eos[/name] Melanthe, Hespera Melanthe [name]Sahar[/name]?

Thanks again everyone!

Hespera Melanthe [name]Yvaine[/name]. Omg. That person needs to exist.

Names that make me think of purple and gold, honey and nectar, flowers and gardens, starry midsummer evenings, etc.

[name]Gardenia[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Wisteria[/name]

Previously entertained combos from your older threads that I think totally fit the bill:

Hespera [name]Oriel[/name] Fieldrush or Hespera Fieldrush Aventurine
Hespera [name]Eos[/name] Rosebay
Hespera Cyrene [name]Fawn[/name] or Hespera Vivendel [name]Fawn[/name]
Hespera Chamomile [name]Wren[/name]
Hespera Silmarien Wilde or Hespera Evenstar Wilde or Hespera [name]Antheia[/name] Evenstar
Hespera Elentari [name]Mimosa[/name]
Hespera [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Elaine[/name] or Hespera Meadowsweet [name]Rose[/name] or Hespera [name]Lavender[/name] Meadowsweet

Zuhur - to flower, to blossom, to glow

I’ll be back later to spin out some new combos instead of reanimating old ones lol. I’m so excited, Otter! I feel like your names are coming together perfectly, each with her own uniquely specific imagery, each one lush and evocative and riveting like a bright jewel or an exquisitely rare flower. [name]Ceridwen[/name] Chione [name]Solenne[/name]…Illyria [name]Charis[/name] Terpsichore…[name]Fiammetta[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] [name]Noor[/name]…I can’t wait to learn who Hespera will be!

Hespera [name]Almandine[/name] [name]Melora[/name].

Hespera [name]Elin[/name] [name]Camellia[/name]

Oh my Sessha, those are amazing! I’m not going to pick my favourites, I’d like to see you work your magic first! I do love Khalisha though… and Khaleesi too. Thanks sweets!
And thanks for pulling out those old ones from the dark, I had forgotten about Hespera Silmarien Wilde. Pretty good…

So glad you like!! Okay, here are my combo attempts.

I know you loved Hespera [name]Eos[/name] Rosebay, but Boyfriend is nixing [name]Eos[/name]…so what to go in between…[name]Tayma[/name]? Hrm, double A ending… [name]Oriel[/name]? [name]Love[/name], but you mentioned the awkward initials. Lorien? ooooh! Hespera Lorien Rosebay – evening stars, elven lands, and fragrant flowering gardens. Winner!

Hespera and Khalisah…similar A and S sounds, and lots of Hs (even though most of them are silent) so best separated by a middle with none of these, probably one or two syllables for flow. Hespera [name]Dove[/name] Khalisah? Hespera [name]Daphne[/name] Khalisah? Hespera [name]Blythe[/name] Khalisah? Hespera [name]Fairy[/name] Khalisah? ooh, I love how the whimsy of [name]Fairy[/name] in the middle lightens up the heavier, more awkward-to-say syllables of the other two. Probably too much for Boyfriend, but if not, then this is a favorite of mine!

Hespera [name]Freesia[/name] Vivendel – Purple and gold, flowers and honey, gardens and evening stars
Hespera [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Samar[/name] – the whisper of the laurel trees’ conversation
Hespera Roseleaf [name]Titania[/name] – a midsummer night’s dream, in a garden of roses
Hespera [name]Lilac[/name] Fatinah – delicate purple flowers, enchantment and allure…like a magical secret garden in the twilight
Hespera [name]Naima[/name] Thistledown – Thistle is a lovely shade of purple, and Thistledown is like Gossamer to me, all soft silky threads and fairy wings, and fluffy dreams (especially when paired with peaceful [name]Naima[/name])
Hespera Tasnim [name]Indigo[/name] – I normally shy away from [name]Indigo[/name] as one of those names that is trying too hard to be hippie…but in this instance it really really works. [name]Indigo[/name] twilight, that “purple fringed with even and dawn” along the stream in paradise that is Tasnim. <3
Hespera Periwinkle Anwar – evening stars, fairy purples, blossoms and rays of light. I LOVE Periwinkle for you…it’s a dainty, way underused color name, it has the whimsical cuteness of Pareerou, and of course a Peri is a fairy. Seriously perfect!
Hespera Layali Zephyr – soft gentle night (twilight) and midsummer breezes. “the end of day and the beginning of night”
Hespera Blythe Elysia – joyous paradise, “the bliss of secret smiles”
Hespera Fawn (or Dusk or Lark or Blythe) Ambrosia – Ambrosia, nectar of the gods. “liquid gold, honeysweet thro and thro”

And I can’t for the life of me think of a combo for this one, but it’s too cute not to share: Minoo! Adorable, right? And it’s Persian for paradise

Now I’m drooling. The ones that immediately jumped out at me are Hespera [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Samar[/name], Hespera Periwinkle [name]Anwar[/name], Hespera Layali [name]Zephyr[/name], Hespera Lorien Rosebay and (obviously) Hespera [name]Fairy[/name] Khalisha! (Khalisha might go well with [name]Morgana[/name] though, I’ve been halfway playing around with [name]Morgana[/name] somehing [name]Zephyrine[/name], Khalisha could fit in there pretty well…). I also find Hespera [name]Fawn[/name] [name]Ambrosia[/name] very pretty, but [name]Ambrosia[/name] is a food label over here that makes ricepuds and custard and stuff like that. Thanks, Sessh, they are all amazing. I am impressed!

And Minoo is cute! Boyfriend isn’t too excited about [name]Solenne[/name] in the [name]Ceridwen[/name] combo, and I thought I might put Minoo there. [name]Ceridwen[/name] Chione Minoo, cute right?

I’m not adding any new names, but here are a few combos that I think are gorgeous.

Hespera Meadowsweet [name]Zephyr[/name]
Hespera Mielle Chrysanthe (I don’t know where you came down on Pamona, but I love Hespera Mielle Pamona too!)
Hespera Melanthe Nisrin

I’ve been following your threads, but not posting much. I can’t wait to find out what you name your little bean!

Really fast, nothing to add, but [name]Anwar[/name] is an exclusively male name (think [name]Anwar[/name] Sadat) and Khalisa starts with the guttural Arabic “Kxha” sound which most people find really unappealing aesthetically.
