[name_m]Jago[/name_m] 
an odd little back story
so, the first time I’d ever heard this name was when I read it in @minxtruck’s top 10 boys’ list. I read it totally wrong. I blame the Norwegian in me, I pronounced it Yah-go, and thought I don’t like that very much. then I saw that @katinka said she loved the nickname “Jay” for [name_m]Jago[/name_m]. I did some research and learned the pronunciation while also finding that it’s a Cornish version of [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], and now I’m so in love with this sweet little name!
anyway!
what are your thoughts on [name_m]Jago[/name_m] and what middles do you feel fit?
also, do you prefer other forms of [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and James; and if so, which is your favorite?

I adore [name_m]Jago[/name_m]! It has a soft, boyish vibe that I love, and an all around sweet, adorable feel. It makes a really lovely alternative to [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and I love the ‘Jay’ sound. I’d use it if I wasn’t so pedantic about popularity. It’s not all that popular, but is in the top 1000 in England/Wales and I like to avoid that where possible.
I think [name_m]Jago[/name_m] goes perfectly with nature related names, but also ‘younger’ sounding classics/vintage names (or both! I have [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] Robin). [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites being [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Cove[/name_u], [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] and [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (Loo-ee).
The only other [name_u]James[/name_u] variant I really like is [name_m]Hamish[/name_m]!

Yay! I’m so happy to see the wonderful [name_m]Jago[/name_m] get some love on NB. I absolutely adore your naming style too, often looking at your UC for inspo, and I think little [name_m]Jago[/name_m] would be perfect there with your other faves.
Surprisingly, I hadn’t thought of the nickname “Jay” until @katinka mentioned it too. I love birds so the birdie nickname made me like it even more as well. 
We almost named one of our kittens [name_m]Jago[/name_m] (he’s [name_m]Hershel[/name_m] instead) and I’m really glad we saved the name [name_m]Jago[/name_m] just in case it works for a little boy in the future. Ours would be [name_m]Jago[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u], unless he’s not the first born and we’ve already used [name_u]Robin[/name_u]. In which case, I have no idea what our middle would be!

[name_m]Jago[/name_m] is nms but I love nn jay and I do like that it’s a sweet underused name with some great history. I just don’t love how short it is… And the hard g isn’t my favorite sound. That said I kind of love it for you and would like to suggest
