Thought I would share my list here. Husband is a Russian immigrant so we are picking names that are Russian and are also family names (from either side of the family).
Boys: [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] (not my favorite but has very sentimental meaning - nickname [name_m]Vladi[/name_m]), [name_m]Mikhail[/name_m] (nickname [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]), [name_m]Ilya[/name_m], and [name_m]Anton[/name_m]
I also really like [name_m]Nicolai[/name_m] but it’s already been claimed.
What about you? What are your favorite Russian names?
I’m half Bulgarian with Czech heritage and a Russian student so I also have a great interest in Slavic names and [name_f]Ekaterina[/name_f], [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] and [name_m]Anton[/name_m] are also on my favorite Slavic names list! (Although [name_m]Anton[/name_m] is also a traditional [name_m]German[/name_m] name to be precise.) I think that especially [name_f]Ekaterina[/name_f] has a very classic but still spunky feel to it! Some more that I love are:
For girls I really like [name_f]Ekaterina[/name_f] (sounds so classy and beautiful!), Inej (absolutely love this name), [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] and [name_f]Katinka[/name_f].
And for boys I like [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m], [name_m]Alexei[/name_m]/Alexey, [name_u]Sacha[/name_u] and [name_m]Dmitri[/name_m].
