I’m not ready to tell you guys the whole story yet, but anyway… I’ve got two beautiful sons, [name_m]Hamza[/name_m] and [name_m]Rafi[/name_m]. Their father is Arabic. I’m looking for a nickname for my oldest son, [name_m]Hamza[/name_m]. I need a nickname that’s slightly more “English” or “western” sounding. [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] is no problem at all, it’s Arabic but could also be a nickname for [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. So I’m looking for a nickname for [name_m]Hamza[/name_m] with the same feel. Any and all ideas are welcome.
[name_m]Hamza[/name_m], never heard of it, but it’s exotic and gorgeous.
Nicknames might be a little tricky. The one that might work, and it doesn’t really connect to [name_m]Hamza[/name_m] much, is [name_m]Oz[/name_m]? I’m honestly not really that sure.
Maza, MZ, Za, Hamie, Zar?
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names! [name_m]Hamza[/name_m] is a tough one to find a nickname for- [name_m]Hamo[/name_m] and [name_m]Ham[/name_m] aren’t that appealing, Za is nice but not very western or recognisable- although it could be a nickname for [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] so is perhaps an option
I don’t know where you are in the world but Hazza is a very common nickname for [name_m]Harry[/name_m] in [name_f]England[/name_f] but I’m pretty sure it’s almost never used in [name_u]America[/name_u]
You could look to the meaning perhaps- [name_m]Hamza[/name_m] means lion so he could have the nickname of [name_m]Lion[/name_m], [name_m]Leon[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m]- but it’s a bit contrived
Maybe just H as a nickname? I know people nicknamed J, O and Z so it could work
It’s a stretch, but what about [name_u]Sam[/name_u] or [name_u]Sami[/name_u]? ([name_m]Ham[/name_m]za Munir)
I really love [name_m]Hamza[/name_m], btw! I grew up with one and he was awesome. Wish I had an excuse to use it 
[name_m]Hamza[/name_m] is a lovely name, but I can see how nicknames are tough! My suggestion would be to do something with the Z sound - Zam, Zammy, Zi? Or Hammy, though I agree with the above that it’s not the most appealing nickname. I’ve heard Hazza too but I’m English and think it’s only common here, but that’s an option!

I’d probably go with just “Z” as a nickname.
