I’ve always really loved Greek and [name]Roman[/name] mythology, and I was looking at a list of names recently, and realized that I like quite a few of them.
The two that I absolutely love are [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Minerva[/name]. I also like [name]Artemis[/name], [name]Apollo[/name], and [name]Thea[/name], but I would like to see more! Please give me some suggestions of names that you think are cool/interesting from any mythology, as long as you actually think they are usable on a child.
Adrasteia, Aella, [name]Clio[/name], [name]Althea[/name] (and Amalthea), Antiope, Aphrodrite, Carme, [name]Athene[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Evadne[/name] (a la [name]Ariadne[/name]), [name]Circe[/name], [name]Harmonia[/name], [name]Hera[/name], [name]Calliope[/name], [name]Phaedra[/name], [name]Selene[/name], Rheia (a la [name]Rhea[/name]), [name]Niobe[/name], [name]Hestia[/name], [name]Eirene[/name] are very beautiful names. Of boy names, I have little knowledge, but I like these: Lykos, [name]Leandros[/name], Eos, [name]Apollo[/name], [name]Adonis[/name], [name]Dionysus[/name]
Wow, I almost forgot about this thread. Thanks to everyone who responded.
These are the names I really like: [name]Athena[/name] (I already love this one, just completely forgot to add it to my original post), [name]Selene[/name], Mylas (who was this, because I’ve never heard it before), [name]Rhea[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Castor[/name], [name]Phoenix[/name], [name]Nyx[/name], and [name]Circe[/name].
Does anyone have any more? I like all of these, but don’t love any of them as much as [name]Phoebe[/name] or [name]Minerva[/name]. I’d like more boy names, please!
I have [name]Thor[/name], [name]Aries[/name], [name]Mercury[/name], [name]Loki[/name], [name]Perseus[/name], [name]Andromeda[/name], [name]Atlas[/name], [name]Jupiter[/name] on my list to name a few.
So many are underappreciated: [name]Janus[/name], Bellona, Proserpina, [name]Cybele[/name], Hecate, Enyo, [name]Eris[/name], Megaera, Alecto, Hyperion, [name]Hyacinth[/name], Tethys, Ganymede, [name]Cadmus[/name], [name]Cassiopeia[/name], [name]Phaedra[/name], Laodice, [name]Ismene[/name], [name]Hecuba[/name] and many others. I also like names from classical Greece and [name]Rome[/name].
Boys (my favourites, no other particular order)
[name]Atlas[/name] - Greek. I know a baby named [name]Atlas[/name] who is loveliness.
[name]Janus[/name] - [name]Roman[/name]
[name]Demetrius[/name] - Greek
[name]Oisin[/name] - Celtic
Fenris - Norse
[name]Fionn[/name] - Celtic
[name]Ronan[/name] - Celtic, were-seal.
[name]Griffin[/name] - Griffins are cool, why should dragons get all the love.
[name]Phoenix[/name] - yes, I like [name]Phoenix[/name].
[name]Orion[/name] - Greek.
Girls
[name]Zephirine[/name] - I don’t really like [name]Zephyr[/name] for a boy, too many brands of speedboat etc. but I love this feminine form.
[name]Iolanthe[/name] - and forms [name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Iola[/name], etc. all of which mean “violet.”
Hesperia/Hesper - the evening star.
[name]Brighid[/name] - Celtic goddess.
[name]Isis[/name] - the [name]Greco[/name]-Romans actually tried to absorb this Egyptian goddess, she had temples in [name]Rome[/name]. I love both [name]Isis[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] as names.
