Name advice : Juliana, Juliet, or Julia

Trying to decide on the right name for baby girl. What do you picture when you hear the different names?
[name]Juliana[/name] (pronounced Ju-lee-ah-na) [name]One[/name] concern is that her name will be mispronounced and she will always have to correct.
[name]Julia[/name] seems a little plain to me. Is it classic? And finally [name]Juliet[/name]. I don’t want her name shortened to [name]Julie[/name]…
Middle name [name]Katherine[/name].
Any advice and thoughts on the three different names and how to decide which one?

I love [name]Juliet[/name], it’s one of my favourites. It is starting to get more popular, so if that bugs you I’d say go with [name]Juliana[/name] which is also pretty but not as common. [name]Julia[/name] is also nice but starting to feel a little dated to me.

I vote for [name]Juliana[/name]. It sounds pretty and elegant.

I prefer [name]Julia[/name], it is definitely a classic and it will always be in style. The longer names will probably get shortened to [name]Julie[/name].

[name]Julia[/name] is my favourite. Cute roman name, and [name]Julia[/name] in The Two Gentlemen of [name]Verona[/name] is a completely underrated [name]Shakespeare[/name] heroine, she’s so cool and spoiled, which I like because the heroines are usually so level headed.
[name]Juliana[/name] seems too something. The -na is completely unnecessary, [name]Julia[/name] is so beautiful.
[name]Juliet[/name] bugs me. First of all, I know a few annoying lady this or lady that named [name]Juliet[/name], and second of all, [name]Juliet[/name] in R&J is annoying.

Maybe you’d like [name]Junia[/name]?

[name]Juliana[/name] is frilly. The sort of girl with a hot-pink bedroom who wears makeup too early.

[name]Juliet[/name] is sweet, serious and crisp. There’s a touch of romance due to the play, but the -t ending grounds the name.

[name]Julia[/name] is classic, dignified, and luxurious. It’s not at all commonly used and quite refined.

Paired with [name]Katherine[/name], your best option by far is [name]Julia[/name]. [name]Juliet[/name] ends in a consonant sound, which makes it sound clipped next to consonant-rich [name]Katherine[/name]. [name]Juliana[/name] is 4 syllables long which is really too much with 3-syllable [name]Katherine[/name].

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]

[name]Juliana[/name]. I know a little girl with that name and she doesnt have a problem with pronunciation.

My favorite of the three used to be [name]Julia[/name], but it kind of grew bland to me after so long, so I put [name]Juliet[/name] on my list instead. I still love [name]Julia[/name], and I wouldn’t be surprised if I went back to liking it. I think [name]Julia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is so very lovely and classic, definitely my favorite of three combos. [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] would be second and [name]Juliet[/name], third, simply for flow reasons.

It’s a tough call between [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] but I think I prefer [name]Julia[/name]. It’s just simple and beautiful. [name]Julia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is gorgeous. [name]Juliana[/name] is alright but way too frilly for me.

i like [name]Juliana[/name]. Its less common, so pretty, and definitely pronounceable.

[name]Juliet[/name] is first for me, then [name]Julianna[/name]- but I like frilly.

I don’t think there would be pronunciation issues, since [name]Juliana[/name] only has 1 N. I like all three names.

I actually love all three, but I think [name]Julia[/name] goes the best with [name]Katherine[/name]. I don’t think you would have pronunciation problems with [name]Juliana[/name]; I know a few and their names haven’t been mispronounced, as far as I know. I think [name]Juliet[/name] is a beautiful name but I sometimes think that people will associate it too much with [name]Romeo[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name], so I usually think that it would work better as a middle name. Good luck!

I have this exact problem but I eventually settled for [name]Julia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] for my own list

[name]Juliana[/name] - is a real girly girl. Loves everything pink and sparkly. Can be a but dramatic at times but nothing to hard to handle. A beautiful girl with long dark brown curls. I think most of the time it will get said the way you want it to be. I say [name]Juliana[/name] your way and [name]Julianna[/name] the other way.

[name]Julia[/name] - I see a girl so sweet you feel like you could get diabetes just from looking at her :). Kind of like a second mother to her siblings. Always wants to take care of something. Wants lots of pets and always has her baby doll in her hand when she is little. I see long brown curly hair former as well.

[name]Juliet[/name] - I see [name]Juliet[/name] as full of spunk. I see heras a future cheerleader for some reason. Blonde hair and blue eyes girl next door.

Obviously [name]Julia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] gets my vote. [name]Juliana[/name] would come in second though. Good [name]Luck[/name]!

I like [name]Juliet[/name] a lot, but I feel like it might be hard to live with so my vote goes to simple and lovely [name]Julia[/name].

As someone who’s name is Juliana I have to say while I love my name some of your concerns are valid. I don’t know how many times my name has been pronounced as julie-ann-uh, which does annoy me to the point that I give up correcting people and/or just have them call me by my nickname. There are maybe a handful of people who call me Julie but mostly I go by the more spunky Jules, which does take off some of the frilliness of [name]Juliana[/name]. If you really love [name]Julia[/name] but want a more unique option you could choose [name]Juliana[/name] with the nickname Julia, it’s not too much of a stretch. Personally I prefer [name]Juliana[/name], though I am biased, or Juliet. I don’t know [name]Julia[/name] just isn’t my cup of tea, but it still is a great name.

I like all three and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. [name]Juliet[/name] is my favorite. I like the Liet ending more than the [name]Lia[/name] ending in [name]Julia[/name]. [name]Juliana[/name] is nice, but there are so many names ending in ana/anna/anne/ann that it gets a little boring.

[name]Julia[/name] is a strong classic that I’ve always liked. [name]Juliana[/name] is okay. I’ve never really liked [name]Juliet[/name], though I’d prefer to use it as a middle name.

All three are lovely, but I say [name]Julia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name].
