So, vaporwave is a fairly recent visual aesthetic that cropped up on the internet along with the ‘vaporwave’ genre of music.

It’s characterised by neon pinks and aquas, luxury '80s buildings and cars, classical statues, palm trees, snippets of Japanese text, and old computer desktops/programs/cyberspace imagery, including visual ‘glitches’.

As one commenter on the video quotes, ‘Vaporwave is what I imagine drowning in a mall fountain feels like.’

Fun. I love this idea!

I felt inspired by the 80s archetypes, cali sunsets, [name_f]Miami[/name_f] vice - but I also wanted a futuristic meets roman architecture flavor which was a strong theme during the dawning of the internet.

Nice job! Memphis Jo but especially Lando Haze really work for me! Memphis as a modern city/ancient city combo definitely rings vaporwave!

Awesome! Arcadia Maud is great – the combined sense of flashy neon arcades and ancient classical idylls both feel like this brand of nostalgia. And Ace Benji has that sharp cool vibe with the nice ambiguous Japanese feel of Benji.

Really really cool ideas. I feel like Madison and Delphi are both perfect vaporwave girl names, Dexter is also a great fit, and Altair is just :ok_hand:t2:. Maybe because of the “alt”. :joy: My favourite combo is Cruz Odion.

I love Mercury, Ziggy and Indigo! I think Ziggy Jem and Jovie Lux are my favourite combos.

I came up with some ideas today, but I reckon for me the definitive vaporwave name is Ken.

Short, sharp, retro, plastic, ambiguously Japanese, it’s vaporwave in three letters.

Not so sure about my combos, but I had fun.
