Sloane is a name that’s been growing on me, I imagine a little girl who’s got a spunky personality and loves wildlife.
The only problem is my wife is dead set on the name Ellis for a boy, and the very popular show Grey’s Anatomy features both Ellis and Sloane in the show.
Do you automatically think of Grey’s Anatomy when you hear either Ellis, Sloane or them together?
you can totally do it. that show’s dying out anyway, right? i mean it’s been on forever 
i also know a pair of sisters sloane and avery, and no one bats an eye at it!

only sloane, but that’s bc the first time i’ve heard of that name (im not in an english speaking country) was in that show
i didn’t even remember there was an ellis, lol. i looked it up and it was meredith’s mom, so if you’re considering it for a boy the connection is more far away

I admittedly have not seen Grey’s Anatomy (well, more than maybe 10 minutes of it), so I’m not terribly familiar with the characters. [name_f][/name_f] I do recall hearing there being a [name_f]Sloan[/name_f] (Sloane?) but I don’t have a clue who [name_m]Ellis[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] tbh I think they make a really lovely pairing! [name_f][/name_f] … [name_f][/name_f] but I realize I’m probably not your demographic here

I do personally think of Greys right away when I hear the two names together, as a very beloved character is named [name_f]Sloan[/name_f] (last name, but still!), the hospital in the show is [name_m]Grey[/name_m] [name_f]Sloan[/name_f] Memorial, and two[name_f][/name_f] (important?) characters are named [name_m]Ellis[/name_m]
however, I do[name_f][/name_f] love [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] & [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] as siblings! They are so sweet and spunky together.
[name_f][/name_f]I think so long as you’re okay with the comments, you’re fine! I might wonder if a sibset called [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] & [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] had parents who were Grey’s fans, but I wouldn’t assume that was the only option!
[name_f][/name_f]If you’re okay with the occasional “oh, are you guys fans of Grey’s Anatomy?” etc, then I don’t see a reason not to use them if you love them!! 
(Also, if you’re not a fan of the show and don’t know this, I wouldn’t consider these bad associations either at all!)
I’m a huge Grey’s fan and didn’t make the connection, I had to reallly think about [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] to remember [name_f][/name_f] I do associate [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] with [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_m]Grey[/name_m], but not so much with Meredith’s son [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] so I couldn’t shake the association to consider for a boy, personally!
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought when I hear [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] is from Entourage and [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] from [name_m]Ferris[/name_m] [name_m]Bueller[/name_m], both I love. I always thought it was cool edgy girls name!
For sure, my wife loves the show.. well, before [name_m]Derek[/name_m] died [name_f][/name_f] but she didn’t even realize until she mentioned them and I made the comment about Grey’s!! Then she suggested [name_m]Dempsey[/name_m] for a girl and I said she was pushing it because [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_m]Dempsey[/name_m] is the actor from the show!
I never watched Entourage [name_f][/name_f] I was just wanting another gender neutral name for a sibling, but one which had a Celtic or Gaelic origin. I also just feel it’s so effortlessly cool, the vibe [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] gives is just awesome and it sounds okay with our last name [name_m]Morgan[/name_m]
[name_f]Sloane[/name_f] in Entourage was an icon, I was low key obsessed with her haha. [name_f]Sloane[/name_f] [name_m]Morgan[/name_m] is soo good!! Gender neutral names go so well with your last name!
