Name dreams

Have you had any dreams about names?
About half a year ago, I had a dream that I had triplets (!!) named [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. I considered my subconscious to be quite a good namer! Then in last night’s dream, I had a blonde baby called [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], which I love.
Would you ever consider using/have you used names that you’ve dreamed about?

I dreamt I had twin girls named [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]Dana[/name_u]. I didn’t like how they rhymed but I guess [name_u]Dana[/name_u] popped out because I know a twin named [name_u]Dana[/name_u].

I dreamed about a girl named [name_f]Patience[/name_f]. I normally trust my dreams to make decisions, not in a superstitious way, they just normally turn out to be good ideas. So if I were having a kid and I kept dreaming about a certain name, I would definitely take it as a cue that it’s the one.

I’ve only ever had two dreams. In one, I was pregnant with a boy that we were planning on calling [name_u]Quincy[/name_u]. In another, I had a daughter called [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. Neither are names I’ve ever really considered, but they aren’t names that I hate either.

I’ve had 2 name dreams. I had one where I had the cutest, most adorable blonde daughter named [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and in the dream I specifically said her name meant heavenly angel. In another dream, I was best friends/dating some hot guy named [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], and I specifically said how cool his name was in the dream. [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] is one of my favorite names for a long time, so that is no shock. But I had never thought about [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (or [name_f]Celia[/name_f]) before and I quickly came to love it, but now I just like the name, the love has faded.

It happens when you like some names and wish to have such names relating with you like some celebrity names or some unique names you like the most. Dreams are also the part of your imagination, but yes one thing it makes easy that you got the choice to give a name to your upcoming baby who doesn’t have right now.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] are lovely together. I had a dream the other night that I adopted two little boys named [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. I love the name [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. [name_m]Victor[/name_m] is okay, but not a name I would probably use. I think if I were pregnant a dream might help persuade me to use a particular name. The [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] in my dream was pretty adorable and his name fit him perfectly, so now I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] even more than I used to.

I had a dream I adopted a boy named [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] and I recently had a dream with two men named [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I originally had [name_m]Levi[/name_m] named [name_m]Liam[/name_m], but I changed it while I was still dreaming, which was weird.

I’ve also dreamed about a girl who turned her life around and she was named [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]. She was just [name_f]Stella[/name_f], but she met a guy who gave her [name_f]Ann[/name_f] as a last name.

I had a dream that I had a baby girl. I had trouble coming up with a name for her. Whenever I would come up with a name, my mother would say it’s a horrible name. I remember saying [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].

I’m SO [name_f]GLAD[/name_f] there’s a thread for this!

About a year ago (maybe two now), I had a dream that I had a daughter. Her name was [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Melody[/name_f] (I either nicknamed her or had her full name as [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Melody[/name_f] at some point in the dream). Actually, because I had that dream, I refuse to use [name_f]Emma[/name_f] OR [name_f]Melody[/name_f] in real life. Too connected.

On a (weird?) side note: Did any of you cry when you woke up after a dream about your son/daughter, or am I just nuts?

I just had a dream that I had 5 little girls (aged from about 2 to 5), who were running loose around my school, and I was trying to get them all together in one place… And my school is pretty big. And I was in my late twenties (like I normally am in dreams), and didn’t look like me (I never do), so I wasn’t still a teen or anything.:stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, from oldest to youngest they were called Daisy, [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] (possibly), [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] nn [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] are both on my list, and earlier I was trying to remember what a nn for [name_m]Albert[/name_m] was, and so I kept calling [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]. I’ve also had [name_f]Lola[/name_f] on the brain recently, because of the song ‘Whatever [name_f]Lola[/name_f] Wants’ in the new Magnum advert, so my mum and I were talking about [name_f]Lola[/name_f] yesterday. Plus I watched an episode of Come [name_f]Dine[/name_f] With Me, and one of the guests was called [name_f]Lola[/name_f].

And @megan_ashley, I didn’t cry when I woke up, but I do feel upset that I can’t have a baby anytime soon, and will have to wait for another 10+ years. It kind of proved that children are a definite in the future, because those 5 girls were really exhausting (and adorable), but they made me want kids even more. I might have felt it more if it had been a more vivid dream.

Haha wow, you all have really specific/grounded kid dreams. I had a dream last night that I found a little blonde Icelandic boy, about 6 years old, and we couldn’t find his parents so I took him home, but he didn’t know what his name was so I named him Sölvi. I do sometimes dream I have a baby, it’s always a boy and and I usually name him [name_u]Alex[/name_u], but then I generally forgot about him and leave him somewhere, or he turns into a dog. Soooo… I don’t set too much store in that for predictions of the future (or at least I hope not), although I do like the names [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and Sölvi. Can’t see myself ever using them in real life, though.

I once had a dream that I was pregnant with a little girl. I remember telling my mom that she could pick out the first name, but all the names she suggested were ones that we [name_m]BOTH[/name_m] hate in real life ([name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Prudence[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] etc)! Needless to say, I was happy it was just a dream. LOL.

I dreamed that I had a son named [name_u]James[/name_u], and in another dream I had triplets, [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. I love the triplet names, and [name_u]James[/name_u] is okay, but too common. I’ve only ever had a dream about a girl once, and I think her name was [name_f]Farrah[/name_f], which I like but don’t love.

I’ve had a couple but the only one I can really think of was one that felt like a deja vu moment.

I was older and was sitting around the fireplace, surrounded by my daughters. One of the girls was pre-teen/early teen-aged and I remember knowing she was my [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]. She was sitting with two other little girls, about 8 and 5 on one couch. I was across from them on another couch with a girl about 1. She had Down Syndrome and I was making her laugh by tickling her and making a song with her name in it, [name_f]Selah[/name_f].

I woke up from that one also sad. It just seemed so lifelike. I firmly believe in deja vu and subconscious dreams so it’s always stuck with me since I feel like it’s a glimpse into my future.

I have had many but the one that I will never forget is one I had a few years ago.

I had given birth in my old high school and was in my old English class. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandfather walks in, writes the name [name_m]Amen[/name_m] Correa on the chalkboard. He turns and says “I named your little girl. Congratulations!” And he left. I started crying because I’m atheist and then I woke up.

It was kind of a nightmare lol.

Our son [name_m]Will[/name_m] recently told me he’d had a dream that we had another baby. [name_m]Will[/name_m] said the baby was a boy, and we’d named him Chicory!

Points for creativity, eh?

Yes! I’ve had so many dreams that I have a little girl around 2-3 years, with blonde curly ringlets, named [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is one of my favourite girl names, but both my husband and I have very dark hair, and no one in our family has curly hair, so it’s rather an odd dream!

I had a dream that I had a baby girl I named [name_u]Rylie[/name_u]. I liked the name somewhat before but having that dream made it stick out to me more. I had a dream the other night where two names were in it, one of them was [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] and I can’t remember the other.
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom named my younger sister [name_f]Emily[/name_f] because while she was pregnant, she had a dream that her baby was a girl and she named her [name_f]Emily[/name_f].

One time I dreamed I had twin boys named [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and Ender, except they were elves? Not relevant there. Anyway, I also dreamed my name was [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] once, but it was probably because I was on a writing spree with a character I made that went by that name. I sort of am an [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] though.
