I have this thing with names(and general words) that I dislike some letters and like others. For example, my favourite names tend to include the letters R, F, and L. Yet I tend to dislike G and P.
What are everyone else’s name Feng shuis?

I’m not sure if this is really what you’re talking about but I tend to prefer names with the letter I in them somewhere - obviously there are exceptions with my absolute favourites ([name_m]Dougal[/name_m], [name_f]Carlotta[/name_f], Skandar) but that tends to be the case. As for beginning initials, I’m quite an M, C and R person, but I have to cut down or it begins to get a bit ridiculous… I hadn’t really thought about it in these specific terms before, so sorry if this is a bit confused.
I usually like names that have an F, T, I, E or A in them. I also like X’s at the end. I’m not a big fan of names with a Y or G as hanging letters just…irk me. I can deal with it at the beginning if it’s a G or at the end if it’s a Y but a G or Y in the middle drives me nuts! Obviously there are exceptions but that’s just a general thing for me. I’m also not a huge fan of P names for boys and I prefer D names be boy names (even though I’m a girl and have a D name).
For me, I can’t have certain letters next to each other. These letters are U, V, W, X, and Y. They tend to not look appealing to me, they often clash and have a sharp appearance. For example, if I had to choose from one of these two , I’d much rather name a girl [name_u]Devin[/name_u] than [name_u]Devyn[/name_u]. Two slanted letters next to each other just throws me off.
Also, I prefer names to have different endings.
For example, I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would look nicer than [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f], which is too wordy and has too many hanging letters in my opinion. And names like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Sara[/name_f] just come across as too repetitive.
However, there are exceptions.
Two names can end in the same sound if they have different letters at the end.
In general, I prefer most C names with a K, which everyone hates for who knows what reason. [name_f]Kourtney[/name_f] is so much better looking to me than [name_u]Courtney[/name_u], because it’s just fresher looking.
I really don’t like the “oo” sound. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lula[/name_f], [name_m]Boone[/name_m], [name_f]Prudence[/name_f], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], etc… it’s hard for me to find a name I like with that sound in it. I kind of like [name_f]Oona[/name_f], and I’m okay with [name_u]Drew[/name_u] for the most part, but that’s basically it. The sound just grates my ears for some reason.
I do agree that I usually prefer Ks to Cs, but only if it doesn’t look overly tryndee.
Like some other users have said, I don’t like it when a C is replaced with a K. It strikes me as trashy, to be honest. Same goes for any vowel being replaced by a Y, as in [name_f]Madisyn[/name_f], [name_f]Catelyn[/name_f], [name_u]Jordyn[/name_u], etc.
I also don’t like the Bro- or [name_u]Bo[/name_u]- sound, like in [name_m]Brogan[/name_m] or [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]. I can’t really describe why I don’t like those sounds in particular, but they just sound harsh and unattractive to my ears.
This one is is kind of circumstantial, but I don’t like a name ending with a vowel next to a middle name that starts with a vowel. The names all tend to run together more often than not, particularly if they have the same vowel next to each other.
By and large, I don’t like names that start with K, unless they’re non-European in origin ([name_f]Khadija[/name_f], [name_f]Kali[/name_f], [name_m]Keanu[/name_m], [name_f]Kairi[/name_f]). [name_m]Kingsley[/name_m] and [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] are probably the only European natural K- names I like, and Kn- names don’t make me want to cringe the way the rest seem to do. I especially don’t like C- names that have been changed into K- names, with the sole exception of [name_u]Kieran[/name_u]. K- surnames are fine in small doses. Seeing too many K- names in close proximity to each other actually makes me physically uncomfortable, almost pained, which is weird. Understatement: I really don’t like the K- names pages. XD
