Name for a charmingly odd character

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I know i just were there a few days ago, but I guess I need help again.
Nothing has changed: setting is [name_f]Canada[/name_f] of our days, small town full of woods and secrets, genres are YA and fantasy. My english is still not very good.

So. There is this guy - or maybe it’s a girl, ot maybe it’s someone else: nor their gender, nor their age are known. First I just could not decide, but then i realised they are cool the way they are. They are an only child of local pastor, but like… it’s their mother whos a pastor, not a father. Their family is not very popular in the town and they were bullied when they were a child (not only because of this, they just were a weird kid).
They look like a teen, rougly 15-20 years old, not very tall, not very short (about 5’5’’ i think), very thin and slender, with androgynous look. They have pretty short wavy blonde hair, pale skin and long nose with a little crook.

Personality is very… airy? They are always kind and delicate, caring and gentle, pretty awkward, clumsy and lighthearted, usually daydreaming and always has their head in the clouds. Though they have some dark secrets. that will reveale later. They know a lot, but talk very little. My friend referres to them as “that hipster version of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] Lovegood” and… honestly… it’s not far from true.

I need a name that will end with a vowel (this is important), it may be a little odd and out there, but not too weird. Probably not something very modern and cre@tive. Also unisex. I have [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] on my list, but they are probably too gendered.
My current choice is [name_u]Everly[/name_u], mostly because of the nicknames [name_u]Ever[/name_u] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f], they are great for a fantasy character and for someone involved with Christianity.
I also struggling with last name, I want something religious, but [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and [name_m]Cross[/name_m] looks too straightforward.

Soooo… any thoughts? I would aprecciate any help!

I don’t think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is too gendered. I like [name_u]Everly[/name_u] a lot, especially with the nn [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is another similar one, and more androgenous to my ear (but that’s because I know a [name_f]Beverly[/name_f], which [name_u]Everly[/name_u] obviously reminds me of). For last names, maybe go for an obscure saint? Or you could use [name_u]Abbey[/name_u], which is straightforward, but sort of subtle since it’s common. Or Crux/crucis, which is Latin for cross.

I personally like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] the best. I don’t think it is too gendered.

You could always [name_u]Everly[/name_u] nn [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] if the main character is a girl.

Unisex names that end in vowels: [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], [name_u]Drew[/name_u], [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
