[name_m]Hi[/name_m], guys, this is my first time posting though I’ve been visiting Nameberry and reading Nameberry forums for over a year. This place is so cool.
Here’s the thing: I’m a Dungeons and Dragons noob and most of my friends are too, but we’re very attracted to it and we’ll organize our first adventure in two weeks, maybe less. I’m really excited to have found this game that allows me to bestow a name on anything (I’m not really the narrative type nor I have kids yet).
My character is a half-elf sorcerer that was raised by her human grandmother hours away from the nearest town. They were homesteaders and sheperds and lived very happy until she hit adolescence and BAM: uncontrollable, unpredictable, amazing, magical powers happen. A few years later her grandma starts feeling really old and tired, like death is near so she tells the girl her parents died in an accident caused by her father’s magic, which has been on the human side of the family since they were cursed over 200 years ago… until now she had treated the issue as if her grandaughter’s powers came out of nowhere because she was afraid that the truth would hurt her. When her granny dies she decides to see the world, make friends and meaningful relationships and learn to live with the curse.
I know, clichéd. But I wanted it to be fairy-tale like.
The stats say she’s intelligent and charismatic but not very careful or strong. As for her appearence she’s 22, 5’6’', and looks like this http://humanae.tumblr.com/post/130550729757 but with more freckles and auburn long hair in tight curls.
I searched for some medieval names here and elsewere and found this ones:
[name_f]Malka[/name_f]
[name_f]Ulrica[/name_f]
Claramunda
Elewys ([name_u]Eloise[/name_u])
Mawt
Maab
Etheldreda
And this other ones also medieval but specifically from the Iberic peninsula:
Tareija
Çinara
Toda
Tegrida
Cancionila
”gata
Amicia
I feel like Tareija (a portuguese variation of [name_f]Teresa[/name_f]) is winning but I wanted to check with you. I’m also open to other names, and I need a last name too!
We live in a Spanish-speaking country of Latin [name_u]America[/name_u] so Mawt (or [name_f]Maude[/name_f]) and Elewys which I really liked are awkward to pronounce for several of my friends, take that into consideration too.
Thanks, sorry if this was too long.
