Name for a huldra

I’m looking for a name for one of my characters. She is a huldra, which is a mythical creature like a siren, except with a back made of tree bark.

This story takes place in the present world, and I want a name that you would see everyday and not really think about.

She is short, and has long black hair. She’s half Chinese and half Norwegian, if that helps.

I’m open to any suggestions.

Thanks,
[name_f]Maye[/name_f].

Not sure how she would be half Chinese if hulder are from Norway or [name_u]Sweden[/name_u] and cant be born from humans? Is the father Chinese? How did the mother know? I’m quite interested.
I would suggest looking for Old Norse nature names, nordicnames.de could help
Some that I found are:
Embla (meaning elm tree)
Drifa (snow, snowfall)
Fönn (snow, snowdrift)
Mist (it is an actual old norse name, not just the word)
If you want just everyday names look for a list with the top 100 names in Norway

The first name that came to mind was [name_f]Liv[/name_f]. It’s easy and average, but it means “life” in Norwegian, if I’m not mistaken.

Names that could work in an English speaking country/Norwegian:

[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Kirsten[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f]/[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_u]Julie[/name_u]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Karoline[/name_f]

Sorry it’s not a lot. Depending on where the story is based, you might try checking birth records to see what the most popular names roughly around the time of her birth were.

Thank you! I’ve decided that in the world they’re living in is like ours, and instead of having magic be carried on through lineage, it’s something they’re born with. It doesn’t matter their race, necessarily. She’s also adopted, so her adopted mother didn’t know until she told her about the bark that was growing on her back. Once again, thank you for the website and the names.
