We may have finally agreed upon [name_f]Juna[/name_f] [name_f]Aster[/name_f]. At least we agreed for the first time on a girl’s name though this may not be “the one”. It doesn’t have the exact sparkle I was hoping for and I’m not overly fond of how the a’s run together.
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] was in the running but it just seems too dark and quiet for the spitfire this baby already seems to be. And [name_f]Junia[/name_f] is just too easily mistaken for [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_m]Junior[/name_m].
We want a name that packs punch for [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Ford[/name_m]'s sister to be, a spunky, sparky name that isn’t unisex.
I also picture [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a dark haired girl. [name_f]Juna[/name_f] isn’t horrible but I don’t love it as much as [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. These are what came to mind when I thought of a blonde spitfire.
I really like [name_f]Juna[/name_f] and [name_f]Aster[/name_f], and I see the concern for the ‘a’ sound connecting them. I would be more concerned with first-last pronunciation, but if you don’t like the first-middle sound…have you considered adding another middle to go between them?
I think [name_f]Juna[/name_f] [name_f]Aster[/name_f] super cute & spunky!! I also love [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], but I see it so much these days (more online than [name_m]IRL[/name_m]), [name_f]Juna[/name_f] [name_f]Aster[/name_f] is more refreshing to me.
I think any name can go with any look though. I know of 2 [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]'s, one is blonde and one dark brunette. There’s also [name_f]Maeva[/name_f].
My daughter is the spunkiest, brightest, funniest, blondest, most stubborn and mischievous girl you can imagine, and her name-- [name_f]Juno[/name_f]-- fits her perfectly.
[name_f]Djuna[/name_f] (after a British author, pronounced like [name_f]Juna[/name_f]) or [name_f]Juno[/name_f]/[name_u]Juneau[/name_u] are great options. I would pick something more feminine than [name_f]Aster[/name_f] for the mid spot. [name_f]Juna[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f] or [name_f]Juna[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] are nice.
what about naming her juniper and having juna be the nickname? juniper has more pep to it, maybe astrid instead of aster to avoid back to back -er -er endings.
@justbrowsing: The problem is that I prefer [name_f]Aster[/name_f] over [name_f]Juna[/name_f] but don’t feel confident using [name_f]Aster[/name_f] as a first with our last name - Dickenson - due to the first syllable of each. I would replace [name_f]Juna[/name_f] but can’t find one better.
if you are attached to both names maybe add a third middle name as someone else suggested? [name_f]Juna[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Aster[/name_f] or something like to break up the a-a sound if it really bothers you.
