Hello! I’ve been planning a spider-inspired character in my head, but I’m not sure what to name her. I was considering and obvious or punny choice like [name_m]Webb[/name_m], but I’m not sure if that’s the way to go. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys have any suggestions?
She’s female, so I’d like a feminine or unisex name. It doesn’t have to relate to spiders, because there probably aren’t many names like that, let’s be honest - perhaps just something gothic or spooky? I don’t think she’d be human but I wanna consider human names. She’ll be motherly and caring at first, but actually manipulative to get her own way. I imagine her age being somewhere in her thirties.
I instinctively thought of Arachne, but that might be too obvious.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Jeanette[/name_f], [name_f]Annette[/name_f], Lynette/Linette, pretty much anything with “net” in it (She can go by “[name_f]Nettie[/name_f]”)
[name_f]Cleome[/name_f] (Spider flower) or Hassleriana (the scientific name for a Cleome)
Missulena (type of spider)
Tegenaria (also a type of spider)
Natasha (also known as Black Widow)
Velvet (Velvet spider)
Penelope (means “weaver”)
Fia (means “wild or weaver”)
Sydney (Sydney funnel-web spider)
Nephila (genus of araneomorph spiders)
Charlotte (Charlotte’s Web)
Aranha (means “a spider” in Portuguese)
Aranea (“spider” in Latin)
