I need some name help! #9 is due in [name_f]October[/name_f], and he needs a name! I’ve used mainly Irish names for the previous 8 kids, but I can’t find any Irish boy’s names that I love this time. I love the name [name_m]Riordan[/name_m], but worry that he’ll hate hearing it mispronounced for the rest of his life. I tend to gravitate toward the more unusual names, while my husband likes more mainstream ones. I’m looking for any suggestions! Thanks!
(This is boy #5, btw! I’ve separated my boys and girls in my signature)
Riordan is nice – if pronunciation an issue, perhaps spelling it Rordan might work – though it is very similar to his brother’s/sister’s names (but as you do have three Ro- names already, I’m guessing repetition is not something you necessarily want to avoid).
Congratulations on #9 !!! Thats so wonderful
I can see how your current pic would be troublesome with pronunciation…
[name_m]Killian[/name_m] , Corrigan, [name_m]Finian[/name_m] , [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] , [name_m]Rourke[/name_m] , [name_u]Rory[/name_u] , [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
I like your other kids names, and they have their own sort of pattern about them that you can see by now I’ve laid them out here. I like that they really seem to go together as siblings names and aren’t trying to be similar or dissimilar … Something refreshing about them together
[name_m]Riordan[/name_m] fits in well but aside from also being easy to mjspronounce… It’s almost too similar to [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]… [name_m]Just[/name_m] beginning and ending the same like that maybe worth not using for those reasons together… Though it you love it enough go for it.
Thank you for all the suggestions! My husband loves the name [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m], so he’ll be happy to hear how often it showed up here!
I did happen upon [name_m]Gallagher[/name_m] last night while I scrolled through tons of names again. Is this a usable option? I like it, but maybe it’s too off from my other names. My husband likes it, so at least we’re not at odds over it!
I agree with the too many r names. I think that’s my main reason to look for something other than [name_m]Riordan[/name_m]. Pretty sure it’s going to come down to [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] or [name_m]Gallagher[/name_m]. I’ve never had such a time deciding on a boy name. Usually it’s girl names I have trouble with, and of course I had a great one picked out before we knew it was another boy, haha.
Thanks so much for all the suggestions! Really appreciate it.
