Name for female mercenary

[name_m]Hi[/name_m],

I’m looking to name my female mercenary/assassin character. She is of average height, Latin descent, with brown hair, and brown eyes. She is determined, loyal, has a dry sense of humor, and is very arrogant. She goes only by her first name. For the life of me I cannot come up with a name that fits. Any ideas would be helpful.

Not a long list, but some names that come to mind:
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f]
[name_f]Marcella[/name_f]
[name_f]Constantina[/name_f] (is she stubborn?)
[name_f]Salvadora[/name_f] (kind of ironic, but if her goal is to save another character, it could work)
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] (inspired by the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] myth)

They’re kind of long and ornate names, but I figure they could be shortened into cool nicknames. If I think of any other names, I’ll be sure to come back. Otherwise, I hope this helps!

[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_u]Demeter[/name_u] ([name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Hera[/name_f], and other Hellenic themed names might be suitable. Hecate in specific, is the goddess of witchcraft and magic.)
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilith[/name_f]
[name_f]Enid[/name_f] / [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] (NN [name_m]Will[/name_m] might seem more rough, if you find that fits the character. [name_m]Will[/name_m] is an interesting choice for a female character to go by.)

I’m going to (selfishly, because I love it) suggest [name_f]Socorro[/name_f]. It’s a lovely, long, elegant Spanish word name that’s not overly feminine or ornate. It’s rare and unique and could totally be the singular standalone name for a character!
And – this is my favorite part – it means ‘succor, help, or relief’. Oh, irony of ironies for a mercenary! Honestly I feel like the dissonance between her name and profession could be a fantastic way to introduce some character depth early on. Like who would hire an assassin who’s called “help or relief”? One who knows what kind of help she offers.

One caveat: as noted on the nameberry page, it’s taken from a title of the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f], “[name_f]Mary[/name_f] of Perpetual Succour.” If you are very concerned about offending anyone, best to steer clear. That being said, I don’t think it makes the name off-limits! [name_m]Just[/name_m] gives it a very interesting and dynamic connotative history.

What about…

[name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Camila[/name_f]
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Serra[/name_f]

[name_f]Natalya[/name_f]
[name_f]Marisol[/name_f]

You can name her [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] if that works.

[name_f]Leta[/name_f] / [name_f]Aleta[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], Maryza
