Name for future Chinese Crested or Italian Greyhound!

This [name]June[/name] I will be turning seventeen. Then, from there, it’ll be a year ling count down to when I am able to get my Hairless Chinese Crested or Italian Greyhound puppy.
When I was thirteen-going-on-fourteen, I made a vow to myself that I would buy myself a puppy for my eighteenth birthday. And I have kept that vow until now.
I’ve been thinking about names of a pup from either breed…but haven’t had any luck. (This will be my SO, [name]Aaron[/name], and I’s first dog ttogether. )
Anyways, if we got a Chinese Crested, so we hope, it would be a male and a female Italian Greyhound. We would love suggestions for an unique, exotic name for either breed.

Thank you!

I love Italian greyhounds since seeing them in Renaissance paintings. I like Italian names for this breed.

Does anyone else have suggestions though?

Hello? Anyone? Suggestions? Please.

It’s tough getting responses to pet names, isn’t it!

For anything Chinese, I like the idea of Chinoiserie and Serie is a darling call name. (It is pronounced sir-[name]REE[/name].)
Ling (delicate)
[name]Bao[/name] (precious)
[name]Lian[/name] (graceful)
[name]Mei[/name] (beautiful)
Tao (especially if you love poetry or philosophy)
Beijing

Names that just seem right:
[name]June[/name]
[name]Lake[/name]
[name]Moon[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
Rococo
Deco
[name]Diva[/name]

I can also see naming a powder puff (should you get one) Powder.

For your Italian Greyhound, hmm. I think of [name]Frederick[/name] because [name]Frederick[/name] the Great loved these little dogs. As far as Italian goes, several names are becoming fashionable or would just be cute for this dog.

[name]Titus[/name]
[name]Maximus[/name] (This is fun because of the irony of giving it to an IG.)
[name]Tiberius[/name]
[name]Leonardo[/name]
[name]Bruno[/name] (again, irony)
[name]Orlando[/name]
Pompeii
[name]Rome[/name]
Tesoro (treasure, but unfortunately, in my area a gas station!)
[name]Amato[/name]
[name]Caro[/name]
[name]Lux[/name]
Giovane
Garzone
Micro (which is one Italian word for miniature)

I’d love to hear what you finally decide. I hope others are inspired to make some suggestions.

After waiting so long, be sure you get your dog from a reputable breeder and not a puppy mill.

I just realized Deco would be better for your Italian Greyhound! Greyhounds were the ultimate [name]Art[/name] Deco dog!

Oh yikes. I just reread your post and realized I had reversed the sexes with the breeds! Sorry.

A quick do-over –

A [name]MALE[/name] Chinese Crested –

Beijing still works.
Li (strength)
Sheng or Shing (victory)
Yun-qi (YING-CHEE or YING-SHEE) [name]Luck[/name] or fortune
[name]Quon[/name] (bright)
Mao Zetongue (I guess you need the right sense of humor for that one.)
Chinoiserie is still my favorite
[name]Fortune[/name] Cookie ([name]Fortune[/name])
FEMALE Italian Greyhound
[name]Cara[/name]
[name]Agnella[/name] (pure)
[name]Aida[/name] (happy)
[name]Allegra[/name]
Antoinetta
[name]Grazia[/name]
[name]Caprice[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Venice[/name]
[name]Mariabella[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name] (and [name]Tina[/name] is a cute call name for a IG!)

[name]Just[/name] seem to suit –
[name]June[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Diva[/name]

I’ll try to brainstorm and post a few more later.

I love italian greyhounds ( Be ready to save money for yearly dentals at the vet though, and brush your dogs teeth…im not joking, these guys get serious dental disease and its really painful for them. Are you thinking of getting a hairless chinese crested or the powderpuff version? I would suggest getting the powderpuff…the hairless require a lot of work to keep their skin clean and free of pimples/zits!..I work at a vet clinic)

as for names, to me [name]Alice[/name] is the perfect name for a female italian greyhound! so sweet and dainty!

If OP checks back on the thread, I would love to hear what you got and what name you chose!
