Name for main character

I published my first children’s book (The Unglebungits The Unglebungits: Poole-Presslor, Andrea: 9781540834157: Amazon.com: Books ) about a year ago and the deadline (I set it myself, lol, because I self publish) for my next is closing in. The book is nearing completion but I have decided to ask for help NAMING the main character. Right now he is only referred to as “tiny bird.” He is a tiny blue bird who embarks on a scary adventure.

A few names I have in mind are Blau ([name_m]German[/name_m] for blue), Vogel ([name_m]German[/name_m] for bird), and Kleinen ([name_m]German[/name_m] for tiny). Name ideas do not have to be [name_m]German[/name_m]; Germany is just very close to my heart. I really like Vogel but it seems almost like a villain name to me.

Opinions on my name ideas or name ideas of your own are very much appreciated. Thanks and I look forward to everyone’s replies!

I like Vogel, it’s kind of cute.
Blau is also not a bad idea, I wouldn’t even be surprised to find it in a children’s book written in [name_m]German[/name_m].
[name_f]Tiny[/name_f] would technically be just Klein. I’d like Klein better than Kleinen, but it still feels more like a lastname.
Other ideas: Spatz, [name_m]German[/name_m] for sparrow, and sometimes a nickname for little children, or Piep(s), like the sound.

Vogel and Blau are sweet, though I can see why Vogel feels like a villain. I really like @wandarine’s suggestion of Piep(s), that’s super cute for a little bird.

Piep is a very good idea! I like Kleinen because it means little one. I’m just learning [name_m]German[/name_m], so I’m not fluent by any means, lol. Blau is still high on my list but Piep is nearing the lead!!

Oh, if you want to go for “little one”, that would be Kleiner.
