[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to give a vote of confidence for [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]! I’m American and tend to prefer vintage/classic names but I really like [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] and it would be refreshing to see this on a boy too! (I like it for both!).

Also, I think you could use the nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u] for [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]. Wow. Actually really liking that as I type this!

@justlikeflorida Thank you, your perspective on [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] is so valuable! And oooh, loving [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nickname. Wouldn’t have thought of that myself.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Viveka[/name_f], [name_m]Artur[/name_m] and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]. [name_f]Viveka[/name_f] just feels so lively and fun, different but well familiar and with a classic sound, which I really like.
[name_m]Artur[/name_m] and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] are some of my favourite names in general, but I also love how they look next to [name_u]Robin[/name_u], they feel youthful, fun and friendly, I also love how international they are.
I’m also a fan of [name_u]Robin[/name_u] & Henry; they feel super cozy together.

I think go for [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]!
They sound like your favourite names and I do think you can be brave enough for them. I think if you love them and don’t use them it might play on your mind afterwards, especially if the only reason for not using them is whether you feel brave enough.
Also, if it helps I teach in the UK and if an [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] or [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] joined my class it would be the type of name I get excited to go home and chat about.
In fact the more I read the name [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], the more I love it!

What a great set of names you have!

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - I like this and it doesn’t feel too much/not safe! Somehow, I LOVE the idea of [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_u]Robin[/name_u]! It’s bold, earthy and cool! Also great (and versatile) nickname possibilities (Ari, [name_f]Emmie[/name_f], [name_f]Missy[/name_f], [name_f]Mitzi[/name_f], Issy)

[name_f]Minerva[/name_f] - strong and lovely in meaning, but yeah, that annoying HP association (almost puts me off one of my faves too :frowning: ) - and it sounds like it has quite a lot of cons for you

[name_f]Viveka[/name_f] - ooh, haven’t thought of this in a while. So lively and bright!

[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] - I like the sounds of this! Fun to say, sort of stylish and unexpected! [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] make a cool set! (also [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] on a boy is nice - nn [name_m]Eddy[/name_m]? Ned?)

Loviisa - I don’t love the look of the double i but I guess that might just be because it’s not super familiar to me; I could get used to it  The sound is great though

[name_u]Alma[/name_u] - ah, [name_u]Alma[/name_u] is lovely, gentle, earthy and lovely, with a quiet sort of strength. I guess it just depends if you do decide to move to Finland as to how much popularity is an issue

[name_f]Frida[/name_f] - sparky, arty and cool!

[name_m]Otso[/name_m] - very cool and meaningful - I know it’s Finnish but it feels perhaps more international than Loviisa? [name_m]Otso[/name_m] is fabulous in general though

[name_u]Atlas[/name_u] - a wonderful name, that feels both bold and beautiful, brave but gentle and wearable too

[name_m]Artur[/name_m] - I don’t mind it but I don’t love it.

[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] - I do really enjoy it, love the [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] association and the gentle but sparky feeling. But, it is popular and I guess it depends how willing you are to risk someone thinking they’re honoured when they’re not?

[name_m]Nikolas[/name_m] - sounds like a good choice for you, feels a bit meh for me

[name_m]Lukas[/name_m] - it’s okay - a solid name, but not shiny

[name_u]Henry[/name_u] - one I do love and is so gentle but strong, homely but naturey (okay, it’s the [name_u]Henry[/name_u] Clerval/Frankenstein association that sells it to me). I have met lots of Henrys though

[name_m]Ukko[/name_m] - this does have a really distinctive sound that I really enjoy. I guess the pn correctly, however, not sure someone not interested in names would - it could be corrected easily though - that said, I like it a lot as a middle for some of your others - [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_m]Ukko[/name_m]?

I think this is what’s drawing me to Henry - cozy is exactly the word! And I’m glad to hear Viveka gives you lively & fun vibes too. :two_hearts:

@Hello1 Thank you for the reassurance, it’s especially nice coming from a teacher! Teachers I think have such a good perspective on how usable names feel on young children today & I’m so happy to hear Atlas and Artemis sound good to you. It’s true, the only hesitation I have is if they’re too out there for us… which probably means I should just go for it!

@Greyblue Thank you for your thoughtful response. Your comments are helping me to reflect on my list more! Ah, I do love Atlas Ukko. And you’re right, Henry does come with a cool Frankenstein reference which endears me to it more, too.

For girls I really like [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_u]Alma[/name_u], with [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] been my first choice.

I tried to list these in order of my preference, taking into account how I well think they go with Robin’s name, how much I personally like them, and how well I think they fit for your family!

Girls:
[name_u]Alma[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Alma[/name_u] with [name_u]Robin[/name_u]! I think they make for the brightest pair of siblings! While I do get what you mean with [name_u]Alma[/name_u] being soft-sounding, I personally think of it as being a strong name for a girl, not necessarily by sound, but by vibe. I can imagine a little pig-tailed [name_u]Alma[/name_u] running around behind her brother [name_u]Robin[/name_u] with little flowers in her hands, but I can also see her standing up for herself, and not taking BS from anyone! I also really enjoy how [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is a softer name and [name_u]Alma[/name_u] is as well, I think they play off each other wonderfully!
Loviisa - While I don’t think Loviisa and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] match as well as [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_u]Alma[/name_u], I can’t deny that they both have a very romantic feeling! Loviisa almost sounds like [name_u]Love[/name_u], and I think [name_u]Robin[/name_u] has a very soft literary feeling to him, so I like that aspect of them! I totally get what you mean about the connection to the city in Finland, though! It would probably be a deterrent for me too.
[name_f]Viveka[/name_f] - [name_f]Viveka[/name_f] is so energetic and fun! I feel like [name_u]Robin[/name_u] has strong letters in it, and [name_f]Viveka[/name_f] does as well! It’s feminine and strong, both qualities that you seem to like in girl names.
Agnes/Agatha - While I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is especially cute with [name_u]Robin[/name_u], I can tell that while you like them, they’d probably not be ones you’d ever use, so I’ll leave it at that!
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f] - [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] is so charming to me, and I’m especially a fan of her with the nickname [name_u]Mina[/name_u]! I think [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] is a bit of a heavier name than [name_u]Robin[/name_u] (which is very light and airy to me), so that is the primary reason why it’s low on the list for me!
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - I think this name is really sweet! I love the mythological connection to it, and it’s definitely nice to see it’s on someone’s list! One thing I will say, when you put [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] together, it almost sounds like two heroes in a story, with the [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] and Batman and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] connection. While I don’t think this should be a deterrent if you really love this name (which it sounds like you do), I figured I’d mention it!
[name_f]Frida[/name_f] - While I have never personally been the biggest fan of the name [name_f]Frida[/name_f], I can see why people really like it! I think she brings out the spunky and playful side of [name_u]Robin[/name_u]!
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] - I don’t have much to say about this one apart from the fact that I’m not a fan, and I don’t want to be a debby-downer! I will say, I would be a bit apprehensive of having such an “American” first name and a Finnish surname, just with the worry that it’d feel a bit choppy almost (not sure how to explain it?)

Boys:
[name_m]Otso[/name_m] - I just love your entire boys list, so this was very hard, but when I think of you and what your next potential son could be named, I always imagine [name_m]Otso[/name_m]. I think he is so perfect, and I love how he has the soft vowels and hard consonants that [name_u]Robin[/name_u] has. I just think he’s beautiful, and I adore the meaning of bear. This is my absolute top pick for you!!!
[name_m]Artur[/name_m] - [name_m]Artur[/name_m] is so cozy and warm, and I always smile when I see him! I also like that each of the boys would have a connection to their own legend! [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_m]Artur[/name_m] are so, so sweet together, and once again, I like how it means bear!
[name_u]Henry[/name_u] - [name_u]Henry[/name_u] is another one of your boys names on my own list! Despite the fact that [name_u]Henry[/name_u] (and [name_u]Henri[/name_u] in your case) is very common, I always feel happy when I read a birth announcement in which he is used! I think he’s so cozy and friendly!
[name_m]Ukko[/name_m] - This is such a fun one! I think the meaning of “old man” is so charming and sweet, I can imagine a little [name_m]Ukko[/name_m] running around outside as well as a Grandpa [name_m]Ukko[/name_m] who always gives his grandchildren treats when they come over! It’s short, easy to say, and just generally an adorable name!
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] - [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] is so warm to me! I think he works really well with [name_u]Robin[/name_u], and I feel like a broken record saying this again, but I love how [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] both have soft and strong sounds in them, [name_u]Robin[/name_u] with the R and B, and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] with the K and R!
[name_m]Nikolas[/name_m] - While [name_m]Nikolas[/name_m] is not my favorite from your boys list, I can tell how much you like him! I like how friendly he is, though I can’t help but feel think [name_m]Nikolas[/name_m] seems more like the older brother than [name_u]Robin[/name_u], maybe that’s just me being weird!
[name_m]Lukas[/name_m] - I can see what you mean about the popularity of this name causing you to fall out of love with it! While I think it’s a very sweet name, it does seem slightly common when put next to [name_u]Robin[/name_u], however, they would make very sweet brothers!

[name_f]My[/name_f] top pick for a girl would be [name_u]Alma[/name_u], and my top pick for a boy would be [name_m]Otso[/name_m], however, [name_m]Artur[/name_m] and [name_u]Henry[/name_u] are very close second and third choices respectively!
