Name for Veronica's sister - character names

This is a story about two sisters, one of whom is named [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] “[name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]”. [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] died as a teenager and this is essentially about the other girl moving into adulthood and getting over her trauma of losing a loved one.

Now, for this character I of course want a name which goes well with [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] but is not too matchy

The ones I have in mind are:

None of them seem quite right. [name_f]Ada[/name_f], for example, is nickname-proof; [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] seems too close to the main character of my other story, [name_f]Tammy[/name_f].; [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is awesome, but [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u] and [name_f]Roxie[/name_f] seem too close as nicknames; and some of the other names just do seem too over-the-top as names for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]’s sister. I want a name that still has a classic, feminine feel to it but is not too generic. Suggestions?

I really do like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]. It jumped out to me the most out of all your options.

Some other ideas are: [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Martina[/name_f], [name_f]Viviette[/name_f], and [name_f]Mikaela[/name_f].

[name_f]Bethany[/name_f] goes really well with [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] also does.

I also like @EJpuddlejumper’s suggestion of [name_f]Miranda[/name_f].

Some ideas:

I like [name_f]Renee[/name_f], [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] from your list!

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Tori[/name_f]’
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]’
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Josie[/name_u]’
[name_f]Jaqueline[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Jackie[/name_u]’
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]’
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Maddie[/name_f]’
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Carrie[/name_f]’
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Connie[/name_u]’
[name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Tiffy[/name_f]’
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]’

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list are [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. And since [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] was most popular from the 70s to 90s, here’s some others from that time:
[name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] - [name_f]Jen[/name_f], [name_f]Jenny[/name_f]
[name_f]Angela[/name_f] - Ang, [name_u]Angie[/name_u]
[name_f]Melanie[/name_f] - [name_u]Mel[/name_u], [name_f]Melly[/name_f]
[name_u]Stacy[/name_u] - [name_f]Stace[/name_f]
[name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] - [name_u]Kim[/name_u], [name_f]Kimmie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amanda[/name_f] - [name_u]Mandy[/name_u]
[name_f]Cristine[/name_f] - [name_u]Cris[/name_u], [name_f]Crissy[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]- [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] sound stylistically similar. I like your other names, but they do not sound stylistically similar at all to me, if that matters.

Since you like [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] but are concerned about the nickname similarity, what about [name_f]Rochelle[/name_f] instead?
