[name_f]Girl[/name_f] name suggestions for baby 3 (we’ll be team green for the pregnancy). Currently have two daughters: [name_f]Alina[/name_f] (a-lee-na) and [name_f]Leora[/name_f] (lee-or-a).
We prefer names that are six letters or less (two - three syllables) and we want to avoid repeating first initials if we can. We seem to gravitate toward girl names ending in A. Unsure of if we will have a 4th child which means we’d be locked into girl names ending in A if 3 is a girl - this probably isn’t a bad thing if that’s we gravitate toward anyway haha
We settled on [name_u]Elias[/name_u] for a boy. Other boy names we liked were [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Jensen[/name_u], [name_m]Emile[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucien[/name_m].
Top choices
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (exception to the letter rule, not a fan of nickname June/Juni)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
Othee names:
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] - originally our top pick but feels to close to [name_f]Lara[/name_f] or may be shortened to [name_f]Lara[/name_f] which we dislike
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - low down on the list
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] - partner isn’t super keen on
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - ‘oh feel ya’ (not sure if this is something people actually say but someone said it to me when I mentioned us liking the name, also a longer name)
Your girls are beautifully named and I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u] he’s so handsome.
From your top choices I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] works wonderfully with your girlies! [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is elegant with a pan European feel. Very pretty. I like the idea of continuing your theme of names ending in ‘a’ so this fits that bill.
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is also fab! However if you’re not keen on junie/June I wouldn’t use the name.
Looking at your other ideas I think [name_f]Elara[/name_f] is beautiful I also do not think [name_f]Elara[/name_f] will be shortened to [name_f]Lara[/name_f]. If anything I would say she’ll get shortened to Elle/Ellie. But I wouldn’t say she’ll get shortened instinctively. I love [name_f]Elara[/name_f]!
Your other ideas I would dismiss as they are not making your heart sing.
Congratulations on number 3 ! [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and [name_f]Leora[/name_f] are so beautiful together. I think [name_u]Elias[/name_u] fits in perfectly too!
From your favourites my top 2 would be [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] !
[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] back! [name_u]Love[/name_u] your choices so far.
From your current choices, [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is my pick for you. [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is great as well, but I would avoid it if you don’t like June/Juni. I also like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Winona[/name_f] for you, but it sounds like they’re not quite right.
Some names that don’t end in A but sound nice
[name_u]Esme[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_u]Willow[/name_u]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Alina[/name_f] & [name_f]Leora[/name_f] are so lovely! [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is perfect for a little brother.
Here are my thoughts on your list:
Juniper-Super cute & I love the nature-y aspect. I think that [name_u]June[/name_u] and/or Juni(e) may be fairly unavoidable. There’s also the nn [name_u]Juno[/name_u], which you may like.
Freya-Love this for you . Simple, pretty, feminine, not too complicated or too out there, & fits in lovely with your crew.
Elara-It’s nice & different. [name_f]Lara[/name_f] is a big part of [name_f]Elara[/name_f] though, & also this is maybe a little close to [name_f]Leora[/name_f].
Vera-It doesn’t seem like you love it. I like the vibe of it but not the sound.
Winona-Not a fan of this one. I don’t like the ‘Why’ sound, and this is so associated with two different celebrities for me . They’re both perfectly fine, but it’s just a strong association.
Ophelia-I never thought of the ‘oh feel ya’ thing. It’s more like ‘Oh-feely-yuh’. Either way, it’s nice & fits in well, but just a bit dark & dramatic for me.
Sorry for any repeats, but how do you like…
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
Fiona…my sweet doggy’s name, so I’m a little obsessed.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] feels like a great choice [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is lovely too, though I’d be hesitant if I didn’t like the two nicknames people might shorten it to.
With [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and [name_f]Leora[/name_f], I’ll suggest:
I really like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] from your list!
Other suggestions, sorry for any repeats:
[name_f]Ofelia[/name_f] - could be pronounced Oh-fell-ee-uh or Oh-fail-ee-uh as in some Spanish speaking countries
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Lana[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hanna[/name_f] / [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_u]Maria[/name_u]
[name_f]Katla[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Eilonwy[/name_f]
[name_f]Inez[/name_f]
[name_f]Meryl[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] fits in perfectly with [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and [name_f]Leora[/name_f] (and a potential Elias).
If not, have you thought about [name_f]Junia[/name_f]? It fits the pattern of the sisters’ names, sounds similar to [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] your older girls have nicknames? I don’t think a nn is inevitable, but [name_f]Juju[/name_f] is another option since you don’t like [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Juni[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] girls don’t have any nn, we aren’t really a nn family. Nothing against nn, they just aren’t for us
[name_f]My[/name_f] partner had a much longer name and disliked people shortening it, although he tends to accept it sometimes out of convenience. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is a shorter name and I’ve never been given a nn which is why I think we gravitate toward these shorter names haha
Thank you for the lovely suggestions, I appreciate the reassurance on my top choice of [name_f]Freya[/name_f] fitting well with our older girls now we wait and see what baby ends up being ! I’ll try to remember to update this at some point x
I think you need a name ending in a -Lee sound since one girl starts with [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and one girl with [name_u]Lee[/name_u] in the middle!
[name_f]Alina[/name_f], [name_f]Leora[/name_f] &
[name_f]Alina[/name_f], [name_f]Leora[/name_f] and … either [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Fiona[/name_f].
Both are perfect matches.
They have different initials, 3 syllables, end in A, and have 5 letters.
