The [name]Hepzibah[/name] thread got me thinking…
I love the character [name]Eppie[/name] in [name]Silas[/name] Marner, but I find [name]Hepzibah[/name] to be too clunky and [name]Eppie[/name] to be too much of a nn to use on its own. Can all of you creative Berries think of any less clunky names that could also have the nn [name]Eppie[/name]?

I always liked her name and nickname. Oh and I guess you could use Eponine?

[name]Eppie[/name] is cute, but it makes me think of an EpiPen. My first thought was [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Elspet[/name]. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I think that [name]Josephine[/name] could work as a way to get to [name]Eppie[/name] as well. [name]Effie[/name] would be more intuitive in that instance, but I don’t think that [name]Eppie[/name] would be ridiculous.
[name]Eppie[/name] aka [name]Ann[/name] [name]Landers[/name] was [name]Esther[/name] [name]Pauline[/name], so you might also consider a first-middle name smushed nn. [name]Esther[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] would be a sweet option.
Epona would be the name I’d use, or Épiphanie to get to the nickname Eppie.
I am in the definite minority… but I think that [name]Hepzibah[/name] is a really fantastic name.
[name]Eppie[/name] is also a nn for [name]Euphemia[/name].
