[name_f]Rose[/name_f]! Such a versatile classic, it’s pretty, simple, international and comes with a sweet nickname built-in. You can’t go wrong with [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

for girls, maybe cecily or persephone. also maybe cassandra, which was my number one name a few years ago, left my favour, and then was re-added - i don’t know if that counts. overall, i think i’ve probably like persephone for the longest.
for boys, i actually have no idea, given that i only found boy names that i actually like really recently; within the last year. maybe lucian? i have no clue.

again, not counting my considering/pending list:
for girls, i’ve recently been questioning blue, one of my oldest favourites. it doesn’t fit with any of my other names, and i don’t really like it in any combo i put it in. i’m stuck wondering if i actually still like it, or if i just like it because i tell myself i do.
for boys, ronan is very much on the edge right now; it was my absolute favourite boy name for quite a while (a solid eight or nine months which is a while for me, given that i’m nowhere near children) and suddenly lost its magic. i don’t know whether to keep it on the list, and even though i still light up a little when i hear it, i don’t know if that’s a learned response or if i actually still love it.

for a boy, kit

what name would you be most likely to recommend to an expectant parent?
for girls, maybe clarimond, a rare delight that i adore, yet don’t feel possessive over (unlike, inconveniently, most of my list)

i find this bit really funny, because these are all names on my list as well, but swapped! astraea and orpheus best encompass my style, while frances and otto stick out dreadfully. we have very similar names just… inverse.

I like this idea a lot!

  1. 760 boys + 1,557 girls = 2,317 total names!
  2. [name_f]Tara[/name_f] (TAIR-uh) was the first name on my list when I started putting mine together back in [name_u]July[/name_u] 2018, which is still my third favorite girls’ name today! For boys, I think [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] was the first name I put on my list because it was my favorite at the time.
  3. I added Elston a day and a half ago when I first saw it as a character name, and Elston immediately reminded me of [name_m]Elton[/name_m] which I didn’t have, so [name_m]Elton[/name_m] is the newest name on my list! For girls, I added [name_m]Elio[/name_m] about two days ago when I saw it on the QPT (thank you, @venezio!)
  4. [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] for boys and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] for girls.
  5. Probably Tremace for boys and Onakomaiya for girls.
  6. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]! It’s been my favorite boy name for over two and a half years now, and I have always adored its sound. Sound is my top priority when adding a name to my list, but I also think of spelling and timelessness. For girls, probably [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], which is my current favorite.
  7. I would say Fusako. I think masculine when I hear the name, but it’s actually a girl name from what a neighbor told me. I tend not to like those types of names, but this name is just so fun to say! Similarly, I would say Sadakachi or Jaffre for boys.
  8. Probably Vievee. I was unsure whether or not I should add it and made a poll about it on the QPT which made me add it, especially when I saw that there were multiple pronunciations of the name which I liked better than the one I thought of.
  9. Either [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] or an honor name for my twin brother who didn’t make it. For girls, probably [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].

Took me a while to get to this, but I love this idea!

  1. Currently, on my masterlist (which is under revision), I have 130 names.
  2. I think Anneliese has been on my list longest. I’ve loved that name since I was about 4!
  3. The most recent addition to my list is Alisa.
  4. My most popular name is Emma – #2 on the US Top 1k!
  5. My least popular name is probably Gelsomina – I feel like most Americans have never even heard of it, much less considered using it!
  6. Maybe Clara – feminine, traditional, elegant.
  7. Hmmm…I think Kit is a little tomboyish compared to the rest of my list. (But I’d only use it as a nn for Katharine.)
  8. Ilsa – I love it and half of me wants to seriously use it, but the other half is not sure about it at all. Would it be well-received? Or would it confuse people? Does it even sound nice? I’m never sure!

Hmm. I’m not really sure. I guess Venilia? It’s the name of the Roman deity of the sea & winds, but I’m not Roman (nor pagan) so I’m not sure I’d ever use her. Plus, everyone says Venilia reminds them of vanilla, though I don’t see it.

Ronan Gale &/or Mari Driftwood

Perhaps Vivia for a girl, and Emilien for a boy.
Both are fairly rare, underused names, but they are similar to more popular names, like Vivienne and Emilio.
