I don’t love names that start with H because it makes the name start with a breath, and they’re not very pronounceable in Spanish. The breathy sound just isn’t my favorite, I think most names that start with H sound better when it is dropped, or replaced with a different consonant. Like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] > [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] > Harlowe. It is also pretty inconvenient when I go back to [name_f]Colombia[/name_f] and get roasted by my family that my name doesn’t exist [name_u]Haley[/name_u] turns into [name_u]Allie[/name_u], which I prefer over my own but still! Instead of [name_u]Haley[/name_u], I wish my name were [name_f]Kailey[/name_f] or generally something more universal.
The only name that starts with H that I’ve really connected with is [name_f]Helena[/name_f], and probably because it can turn into [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
Looking at names for my lil bean has made me extra critical of my own name for sure!
I mean there is a big difference between [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] & [name_u]Jackson[/name_u], both familiar and commonly used in the [name_f]English[/name_f]-speaking world and a set such as [name_m]Socrates[/name_m] & [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], which, to me, feel veryyyy different mostly based on the associations and expectations these names evoke.
But like many others on here I do appreciate a subset where all names feel equal.
I definitely agree but if you scroll through “Sibsets You [name_m]Can[/name_m]'t Stand” someone put Bl@ke & J0seph, another F@ith, P@ige, & Br00ke (nothing against these posters or the sibsets they posted just using them for my example)
That’s the EXACT reason why I don’t really like H names! I love [name_f]Helena[/name_f], it’s one of my tops and I can handle [name_f]Elena[/name_f] if they can’t say it completely. I have a ton of family in Puerto [name_m]Rico[/name_m] and most of them speak [name_f]English[/name_f] but people like my great grandma’s (one of them lives where I am and still doesn’t speak it very well) can’t really speak it. One reason why I couldn’t use [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], I LOVE the name in [name_f]English[/name_f] but in Spanish it sounds like the word for juice Jugo.
yes!!! enneagram 2s!!! a time and a half!!! i love sharing — i think that’s a positive 2 trait! i want everyone to count on me to be there and to give!! it’s something i really like about myself!!
the toxicity is really me feeling somewhat hurt that something i freely offered up was taken that’s not a positive 2 trait that is a kristi is really on her bs trait
All I want to do is find combos for Rivera and [name_u]Kahlo[/name_u] but my brain gives me zero energy to go and actually do it I’m hopeless without the name generator
I like double middles which usually are pretty easy to find for me, but I’m doing [name_u]Kahlo[/name_u] for a girl and because I’m indecisive I’m doing a girl and a boy combo for Rivera and gonna see which one I like it better for (knowing me I’ll probably end up making a little section in my UC for them )
I don’t think I can use [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] “[name_u]Jem[/name_u]” in the name sibset as [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and [name_u]Thaddeus[/name_u] [name_u]George[/name_u]. Sigh. Poor [name_u]Jem[/name_u]. I’ll miss you when I have children.
I guess it’s time to say goodbye to my dream of ever having a little girl called Ísrún. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if we ever have a fifth child AND it’s a girl, my SO just doesn’t want to use Ísrún, there’s no way. I already knew, but we were talking about it yesterday and he’s standing his ground, so… I’m so frustrated, because I love Ísrún with all my heart.
