Name suggestions for a name change? [Picture of me included!]

Hello!! This is my first post! I’ve been lurking here for so long trying to find a new name for myself. At first I felt weird looking at a baby name site for this purpose but when I realized that lots of other people post threads here about name changes too I felt so relieved and now I’m way more comfortable posting this. :3

First impressions!? What comes to your mind? What name do you think fits me?
I’ve been looking for a new name since I was 11 (I’m 21 now) I’ve heard just about every single name you can imagine but the problem is… I’m really bad at making decisions for myself and I’m always second guessing if it’s really the right one so that’s why I’m asking what you guys think!

Notes**

  • I enjoy ‘out-of-the-box’ names but nothing too crazy
  • I would like something strong but not too harsh sounding (bonus points if it has a cool meaning)
  • I don’t like flower names
  • [Optional] I’d prefer if it didn’t start with an A (ending with A is okay)
  • [Optional] I’m an aspiring Astronaut so any names that you think would fit a future female
    astronaut would be much appreciated!

Wow, I just looked up [name_f]Alina[/name_f] and found out it means “bright, beautiful” and is from [name_f]Helen[/name_f], who was the daughter of [name_f]Leda[/name_f] and [name_m]Zeus[/name_m]. All of which seem appropriate and a subtle link to mythology and constellations.

My first thought when I saw your picture was [name_f]Stella[/name_f], and then I read the rest of the post and I think [name_f]Stella[/name_f] hits all your requirements of different but not to out there, doesn’t start with an A, not a flower name and perfect for a future astronaut! Plus I really do think that you look like a [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. The second name that comes to mind is [name_f]Celeste[/name_f].

My first thought was [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], too. You really seem like a [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] to me the more I think about it.

Unfortunately [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is unusable as it’s my sister’s name so it would be waaay to awkward. :lol:

Hello! Sorry for bumping this thread- I’m just now reading all of your amazing responses. Seriously, I never expected even this many. For everyone that mentioned the name [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], it’s my sister’s name and I don’t think she’s getting rid of it anytime soon so it seems I’ll have to go with something else lol.

Here are the names that I loved!

[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] (nn: [name_u]Cass[/name_u]) - this name wasn’t said but the user _hannah recommended [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] which I then immediately thought of [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] so credit goes to her.

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] (nn: [name_f]Mia[/name_f], Mione) - this name was suggested by pacifica. I love it and I love the sound of it and just like [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], it has greek roots. [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] is the female version of [name_m]Hermes[/name_m]- who is the Greek God of speed, which can be connected to flying and flying > pilot > rocket > astronaut I think it fits… even if it may be a little of a reach lol

[name_f]Athena[/name_f] (nn: [name_f]Thea[/name_f], Thena) - this name also wasn’t said but the users pacifica & -eagleeyes- recommended [name_f]Thea[/name_f] which somehow turned into [name_f]Athena[/name_f] (which I love because it has Greek mythology & stellar roots)

[name_f]Keira[/name_f] - this name was also recommended by pacifia. It means “dark-hared” and I like the sound of it. I think I look like a [name_f]Keira[/name_f].

[name_f]Keziah[/name_f] - (pronounced kez-yah; nn: kezi, kas) - recommended by -eagleeyes-. This name I brushed off at first but now, after going over it a few times is starting to stick. I’ll have to experiment with this one… see how it goes. (Fun Fact: I had a family member in the 1800’s with this name!)

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (nn: [name_f]Juni[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f]) - this name came from -eagleeyes-, _hannah & adeline_sophia’s suggestion of the name [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] sounds like a cool full name version of that name.
