Hey Everyone! Thought I’d revive an old game. It’s super simple, and super fun to follow along! Basically how it works is I will list 4-5 families and their picky criteria. Then, you guys comment what you think the families should name their child. I will set a time limit (ie. 48 hours) and after that time, whoever filled the criteria “best” that will be the name of the child. Round 2 will be the family having a 2nd child, round 3 the third etc. Game 1 (G1) is the first generation, if it goes well and there’s a game 2, it’ll be the best overall named kids getting married and having kids of their own.
Sorry if that sounds complicated, but I promise it’s not! We played last year, and we got into like the 4th generation which was super fun!
So just a quick example:
I would post:
Family 1: The [name_u]James[/name_u] Family
[name_m]Robert[/name_m] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are expecting their first child, a little boy! They want a nice and common name for their son, something not “trendy”, but popular and easy to spell. [name_m]Robert[/name_m] is a biologist and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]'s MN is [name_f]Acacia[/name_f], so MN should be a plant.

And then you guys could comment:

[name_m]Say[/name_m] I picked [name_m]Liam[/name_m] birch.
Next round I’d post:
Family 1: [name_u]James[/name_u] Family.
[name_m]Robert[/name_m] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are expecting a daughter this time! They want a common first name, and MN should be a flower, just like [name_f]Claire[/name_f]'s MN [name_f]Acacia[/name_f]!
DS: [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]
DD:
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that makes sense! Comment below if you have questions and sorry for the super long explanation!
Family 1: [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] Family
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] are proud of their Greek heritage and their Greek names, but they wished they had more unusual names! For their first child, a daughter, choose a strong, unique Greek name. For her middle name, it should be a mashup of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]'s names (first or middle is fine), but still sound like a name.
DD:
Family 2: The Salutine-[name_m]Smith[/name_m] Family
[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] Salutine are adopting a little boy. He is coming from Switzerland, and while they do not know his name, they would like to give him a name that honours his heritage. They would like his middle name to reflect an attribute they would like for their son, something about independence, courage, or kindness. (Please say the name’s meaning and/or how it related to Switzerland if it isn’t obvious).

Family 3: The [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] Family
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] & [name_u]Niall[/name_u] are so excited to be expecting their first child, a girl, together! The trouble? Finding a name they both love. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] has a daughter named [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], and she loves it’s light, musical and french sound. [name_u]Niall[/name_u] has a daughter named [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] and he love how strong and feminine it sounds. Help them find a name they can both love.
DD: [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
DD: [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]
DD: ?
Family 4: The Zucker Family
[name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are expecting B/G twins! They are a bit overwhelmed but very excited! As they can’t agree on any names, they’ve decided [name_m]George[/name_m] will pick the FN and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] will pick the MN. They do agree they want their kids to have nicknames though, so make sure you mention what the nickname is![name_m]George[/name_m] is an astrologer and would like the twin’s first names to be related to outer space. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] wants to honour family with the MNs so make sure you honours Aunt [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & Grandpa [name_m]Edward[/name_m], but don’t use their exact names.
