Hey, Berries!

I did a thread like this before and loved the responses, so I thought I’d post another with my updated name lists. Below, I will wax poetic a little about myself and what I look for in a baby name, then I will post two moodboards that I made, as well as the name options themselves.

About Me:

Summary

I am a writer, a poet, a Christian, a feminist, and a cinephile. I have a deep love of literature, with several of my favorite authors being Toni Morrison, Marilynne Robinson, Virginia Woolf, and Jane Austen. One of my favorite pastimes is watching Old Hollywood films, especially those of Jean Harlow and other makers of feminist film history. I also love learning about anything and everything, but the subjects closest to my heart besides film and literature are whales, reptiles, ocean conservation, names, colonial America, and LGBTQIAP+ activism.

About My Names:

Summary

For girls, I love vintage, literary, and Biblical-inspired names. I love a good word name, especially in the middle. My boy names are a little more modern-feeling, but still ultimately grounded in my faith, as well as my love of literature and history. I absolutely adore virtue names (and word names in general) for either sex, as I firmly believe that names are gifts, and there is no better a way to show my children how cherished they are than by using words like bravery within their names.

Inspiration:

I like to imagine my future family as living on a farm in the mountains, with a whole bunch of kids wading barefoot through creeks and reading The Chronicles of Narnia aloud every evening before bed. We have nights with endless stars, mornings with peaceful prayer, and there is harmony inside each of our souls.

I felt inspired by the month of [name_u]October[/name_u] so had to choose [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] in the middle followed by [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] to add a touch of whimsy happiness.

I wanted to embrace [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] one of the best times of the year and this name just screams [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. I love [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Clemency[/name_f] is beautiful and breaks up the repeated sounds whilst adding to the overall [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] magic.

I liked the idea of [name_u]Bravery[/name_u] in the middle as I feel the brave shepherd concept resonates strongly with [name_m]Jesus[/name_m]. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] finished the name off in a cosy fashion.

[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is a lovely prairie feeling choice and I thought [name_u]Bliss[/name_u] added to the overall tranquil feel.

I liked the preppy vibe of [name_f]Elouise[/name_f] sandwiched between two vintage choices and I think [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is a lovely religious choice.

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u] ~ [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is a gorgeous puritan name and I feel this overall style of name is very you. I liked the strong no nonsense [name_f]Martha[/name_f] in the middle providing a nostalgic edge followed by whimsical [name_u]Willow[/name_u].

[name_m]Nathanael[/name_m] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_u]Gideon[/name_u] ~ I love the name [name_m]Nathanael[/name_m] he’s so soft, wholesome, cosy yet strong. For me [name_m]Nathanael[/name_m] is gorgeous! I liked [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] in the middle name slot followed by [name_u]Gideon[/name_u].

What a beautiful way of thinking about virtue names. I absolutely love this :heartpulse: and I’ve attempted to incorporate it in my choices. Other points that struck me were your faith and devotion to feminism & feminist culture, along with the overall whimsy of your moodboards; striking a balance between strength & softness is the inspiration behind these combos.

[name_f]Patience[/name_f] is a bold but gentle virtue, and gives me the feeling of a future and life waited patiently for, and therefore cherished. Also, possibly a good quality for an oldest sister :grin:

It’s a powerful name but I like the softer sounds and the way you can prosper in many different ways. For girls, the general theme with first names was longer, elegant, a little on the frilly side, with more grounded, wordy / virtue names for the middle. I felt like that style suited your personal descriptions. For boys, I liked the unusual but familiar-sounding first names and again tried to stick to wordier middles to ground them in your own virtue and lifestyle.

I picked more classic first names that I thought sounded like a nice sibset, and then tried to use at least one virtue name in the middle. You didn’t mention if you prefer one or two middle names, so I’ve given them two as you had so many lovely names I wanted to use! I didn’t add nicknames, but I presume you have some you prefer for certain names, or you may just prefer using the full names.
