Name These Boys

Again I’m interested in what you would name these children, this time boys, from the past?

  1. [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] or [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
  2. [name_m]Davis[/name_m]

Hmm I can’t quite find a right name for the first one, but the second is [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] or maybe even [name_m]Ned[/name_m]! Could be short for anything. [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Edwin[/name_m], [name_m]Edgar[/name_m], [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] or [name_m]Alfred[/name_m]. A fun, cheeky nickname with a more full given name.

The first needs a more serious, beautiful name. [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] maybe? [name_f]Garnet[/name_f], [name_f]Avis[/name_f] or [name_u]Marion[/name_u]? For some reason I’m finding the older gender crossing names to suit.

The first is a [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] to me that goes by [name_u]Kit[/name_u].
The second a [name_m]Carl[/name_m].

1 is upper-class, with a hint of snarkiness - [name_m]Torquil[/name_m], [name_m]Clarence[/name_m], [name_m]Hector[/name_m], [name_m]Quentin[/name_m].

2 is [name_u]Billy[/name_u], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Clark[/name_m], or [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]. Something pugnacious, but impressionable.

  1. He’s a [name_m]Louis[/name_m] or a [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] to me

  2. I’m thinking something grand or classic but with a nickname that was meant to be used by family, but ended up being used more than his full name? (Similar to what Columbiacharm said!)
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m] nn [name_u]Toby[/name_u] was the first one that came to mind, maybe [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] nn [name_m]Eddie[/name_m], [name_m]Herbert[/name_m] nn [name_m]Herbie[/name_m] or [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] nn [name_m]Harry[/name_m]?

Numer 1 needs an upper-class name, he looks like a little lord. The heir of a county, probably. My first thought was [name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but I think, being a heir, he would have three or four names.
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
Furthermore, he would be called [name_m]Dick[/name_m] or [name_m]Dickie[/name_m] because he would share his name with his father, and probably his grandfather. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it is not an usable nickname nowadays, [name_m]Dickie[/name_m] suits him.

Number 2 is [name_m]Floyd[/name_m], definetely. It’s a name I wouldn’t use and I really don’t like that much, but this boy looks like [name_m]Floyd[/name_m] to me. I also think he has a “USA” name, something that feels from the State.
[name_m]Floyd[/name_m] [name_m]Russell[/name_m]
[name_m]Floyd[/name_m] [name_m]Morris[/name_m]
[name_m]Floyd[/name_m] [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m] (This one is too much, but at the same time it’s my favorite)

The first is [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and the second is [name_m]Geoffroy[/name_m]
