Name thoughts

If you were to meet a girl or boy baby/child/adult with the name [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] what kind of vibes or thoughts does it give you? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it will work as an adult? Thanks

Honestly, all Iā€™ve ever thought about the name is ā€œCivil War battleā€. Thatā€™s it. I know its meaning and origin, etc., but I cannot detach it from the battle. (Not that thatā€™s necessarily a bad thing because it was a Union victoryā€¦) Anyway, itā€™s probably just me, so, you know, do with that what you will.

I know people have used the name for both genders, so Iā€™m sure it works!

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever heard of the Civil War battle. It gives me soft vibes, probably because of the ā€œShā€ sound in the name. I picture someone who is very polite and soft-spoken, but of course I think it can work on anyone. Someone whoā€™s more loud and crazy would own the name as well. I will say though that the dog association is always there but for me I think I am able to overlook it because the name is so beautiful but I know other people who say they cannot get past it just being a dog name.

I always imagine a really bubbly kid whoā€™s kind of shy at first but is over it really quick and just in general is very fun and sweet, but I feel like [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] is a very versatile name that works with many personalities. Most Shilohā€™s that are alive right now arnā€™t adults but I could see it on one!

Thatā€™s partly the reason Iā€™m asking my family say the same thing regarding the battle and its abit deflating. Kind of like why would you name them after such a thing. I also wasnā€™t aware of the dog or battle before looking further into the name but I think many qualities about the name over ride any negative associations.

Thatā€™s good! I definitely think that if you love the name, thatā€™s what matters. As I said, I know plenty of people have used it.

And, honestly, I wouldnā€™t say the battle or the dog are necessarily negative associations. Just some to be aware of before rather than after using it.

I met a baby at the beach a few weeks ago named Shiloh and she was a wiiild little girl! Running and laughing and dropping pizza slices in the sandā€¦ so thatā€™s what I picture. An absolute wild-child shuffling around on her little legs!

The book/beagle is the first thing I think of because the first time I heard [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] was when my elementary teacher read the book, [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u], when I was a kid and Iā€™ve never met anyone named [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] so the beagle has always been my predominate association but I donā€™t think this book is necessarily a negative association. I think it would work well on a person, adult or child

I looove [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]! I like it on both genders but I prefer it on girls. [name_f]My[/name_f] first association would be the book/dog. I love the association because it was one of my favorite childhood books and brings back lots of memories of my friends. I think it can work for any age.
