I’m working on another character. His name is [name]Mason[/name]. I’m having such a hard time coming up with a last name. It’s a hard name to match because of that ‘s’ smack dab in the middle. Nothing sounds right.
The character is 35ish, tall, good looking in a scruffy way. Personality wise, he’s funny, sarcastic, perfers to be alone. Women find him overbearing but they are drawn to him. Men hate him on sight but after they spend time with him grow to like him, even respect him.
I wanted to use [name]Dixon[/name]…it sooo fits, but there is a band called [name]Mason[/name] [name]Dixon[/name].
A fellow berry suggested Dunlop…I like it…it fits…but I am not feeling it like I want to feel it. [name]Mason[/name] is sort of a soft name so I would prefer a strong sounding surname.
He has had so much happen to him…bad luck that he’s a total pessimist and he often slaps jokes at people who are the opposite. He’s an introvert, but when he likes someone and wants to get to know them he does open up, but only if the person is revealing themselves too. He’s emotional and sensitive, but tries hard not to show it. He’s a little manipulative and really clings to the past. He’s soft spoken, but is often angry so he feels he has to yell to get his point across. He has a temper and doesn’t back down from a fight.
[name]Mason[/name] Rutledge…there is a author named [name]Mason[/name] Rutledge
[name]Mason[/name] Lebert…not bad
[name]Mason[/name] Boyle…I like it because it’s like boil…“hot”
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Boyd[/name]…I love the strong ‘B’?
[name]Mason[/name] Coates…not too bad
[name]Mason[/name] Liddell…not too bad
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Conway[/name]…not too bad
[name]Mason[/name] Crookshank…maybe too bold
[name]Mason[/name] Cargill…not too bad
[name]Mason[/name] Bonney…sort of “Billy the Kid” like.
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Craig[/name]…my last name, but the meaning is good
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Ladd[/name]…my Grandmother’s maiden name…she wouldn’t mind.
[name]Mason[/name] Wager…my other Grandmother’s maiden name…I’m willing to try anything at this point.
[name]Mason[/name] Emlaw…I like it, but it may sound too soft
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Campbell[/name]…not bad at all…it sort of sounds like [name]Nathan[/name] [name]Campbell[/name]. [name]Nathan[/name] is way to strong and serious a name for this guy.
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Coleman[/name], or [name]Cole[/name], or [name]Coles[/name]…I don’t know about the double ‘ma’?
[name]Mason[/name] [name]Corliss[/name]…sort of like the analogy of fruit having no core and a man hurting a lot inside. However there may be too many S’s?
[name]Mason[/name] Beaudry…it has a nice ring to it.
[name]Mason[/name] and I spend a lot of time together today and he has decided that Dunlop is a good surname and it works for him. So, his full name is [name]William[/name] (nn. [name]Mason[/name]) Dunlop. His father is also going to be [name]William[/name] (nn. [name]Bill[/name]) Dunlop. [name]Mason[/name]'s relationship with his father plays a huge factor with his character and that is why he goes by his middle name. His mother preferred [name]Mason[/name] too because it was confusing having to ‘Bills’ in the house. I’m so relieved to have this character named. I was really getting worried that I’d have to change from [name]Mason[/name] and I really didn’t want to do that.
I stuck to the original name, but thanks for all the suggestions.
