[name]Hi[/name] everyone!
First time poster (and first time mom!) here!
I’m due with my first baby (a boy!) near the end of [name]June[/name] and my husband and I are not totally set on a name. My background is English/Irish and his is English/Italian. We have a very Italian last name (think Carleveri or something like that) and after spending ages thinking of names, we are stuck.
Although our list originally included names like [name]Jack[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Milo[/name], I found that most of them didn’t sound right with the Italian last name. I thought [name]Milo[/name] sounded pretty good but my husband wasn’t sold.
That is how we landed on [name]Luca[/name]. I think it is a really cute/cool name that works with the Italian last name as it is Italian itself, but I think it sounds good in our non-Italian neighbourhood as well.
However, we are stuck for a middle name if we go with [name]Luca[/name]. If we picked a family name, our options are limited ([name]John[/name], [name]Clifford[/name], [name]Solomon[/name], [name]Luigi[/name]) and don’t sound all that great.
Any suggestions? Forget the family name? Forget [name]Luca[/name]?
(additionally, I have a friend with a [name]Lucas[/name] and a distant non-blood relative with a [name]Luke[/name]).
Thanks for your help!
I like [name]Luca[/name] and it was on my list a while back but then I met a [name]Luca[/name] I wasn’t fond off and it appears to have got a little popular in the UK.
[name]Luca[/name] would sound great with an Italian last name and certainly fit your partners background.
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Solomon[/name] sounds lovely [name]IMO[/name].
Other ideas…
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Jonathan[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Dominic[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Henry[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]Luca[/name]
I would use either [name]Luca[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] or [name]Luca[/name] [name]Vincent[/name].
[name]Luca[/name] is handsome! I think [name]Luca[/name] “Carleveri” is really handsome, but I think something traditional, timeless, and short-and-sweet (like [name]Jack[/name] “Carleveri”) could work just as well. I really love the idea of [name]Jack[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] with a more complicated Italian LN.
Hmm, I like [name]Luca[/name] [name]Henry[/name], and I also like [name]Luca[/name] [name]Solomon[/name] or [name]Luca[/name] [name]John[/name], if they work with your LN (which I’m guessing isn’t Carleveri, haha).
Good luck!
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Antonio[/name]
[name]Luca[/name] [name]Enzo[/name]
Thanks to everyone for their replies!! I’m glad that [name]Luca[/name] is considered a handsome name
To be honest, I didn’t really want a super Italian first name (since I’m not Italian) but I think [name]Luca[/name] would be approrpriate for Italians and non-Italians alike.
I like the sound of [name]Luca[/name] [name]Solomon[/name]. I also asked my dad and my grandmother’s maiden name was [name]Frank[/name]. [name]Luca[/name] [name]Frank[/name]? [name]Luca[/name] [name]Franklin[/name]?
Who knew this naming business was so tough!
