Name with the meaning 'sunflower'

I was wondering if there are any pretty names with the meaning ‘sunflower’? I don’t remember coming across any but maybe some of you Berries have😊

I would also be happy for any suggestions with the meaning ‘sun’ and ‘flower’ as a first and middle name combination. ‘Sunflower’ as it is doesn’t feel like a name I would go for in real life.

I’m not pregnant but if I would ever get a daughter, I really like the idea of honoring her great grandmothers (who were both passionate hobby gardeners) by using their absolute favorite flower in her name :sunflower::two_hearts:

[name_f]Nanala[/name_f] means ‘sunflower’ :sunflower:

It may be a bit much for some, but Helianthe could come from the genus for sunflowers, Helianthus.

There’s also Mirasol, which is “sunflower” in Filipino.

I know [name_f]Susan[/name_f] means lily but blackeyed susans look like little sunflowers to me so I associate [name_f]Susan[/name_f] with sunflowers.

Oh, didn’t know, this is a cute one!

It’s Hawaiian :two_hearts:

Girasol is sunflower in Spanish, and it’s used as a baby name in the US. There’s also the very similar [name_f]Marisol[/name_f], which is a little more familiar and still has that sunny “sol” syllable.

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is sweet and very descriptive in its simplicity!
[name_f]Blossom[/name_f] is so lovely! Maybe that combined with sth:thinking::heart_eyes:
I hadn’t even thought about [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] but I like your creative thinking, thank you! :hugs:

I had actually been thinking about the scientific name myself as well but couldn’t as you said use as it is but try to figure out a more wearable “nickname” for it😊

Mirasol was a new one for me too, thank you!

I think many Hawaiian names look so sweet written and sound happy and lively when pronounced🤗
