And others that are still some of my favourites, but either a bit below my top 25, or are some of my favourite middles are: [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]James[/name_m], [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Robin[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Kit[/name_m] (a nn for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] on my list), and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

Biggest surprise for me was [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]! [name_f]Love[/name_f] him as a GP for me, but pleasantly surprised so many people have him on their lists
I am surprised to see [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] on the list, but not complaining because I love them all! [name_m]August[/name_m] doesn’t surprise me at all, though I would have expected [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] to also rank higher.
[name_m]Robin[/name_m] and [name_m]Kit[/name_m] were ones I submitted, so happy that so many share the love n those. I also love seeing [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Forest[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], and Arthur!!
There are no huge surprises I’d say, although I don’t remember seeing [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] around the forums much. (Did you combine spellings? Is it [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] taken together?) I thought the [name_m]Kit[/name_m] hype had died down but apparently not

Interesting how most positions are very close or even tied, but the top name, just like on the girls list, is the top name by quite a bit.

Again, none of the names I submitted made it (closest were [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] on a shared 31st), but I love seeing [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m].
A lot of these don’t surprise me [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m], [name_m]Kit[/name_m], and so one [name_f][/name_f]- but for some reason, the popularity of [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]George[/name_m] do? I know lots of people like them here, but I didn’t realise they were that loved!

This list overall feels less surprising to me than last year’s, where the second half had more names that I wouldn’t have quite expected. It’s interesting to see [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] as firsts, as I tend to see them more as middles. I feel like I don’t see [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] that often for it to be #16[name_f][/name_f], also, but perhaps I’m just unobservant! It’s also interesting to see that [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] actually rose one spot. It’s seemed to me that his moment on Nameberry has passed a bit.

Maybe it’s a middle? [name_f][/name_f] I don’t know that everyone keeps a top 25 so they may throw in random names they like but wouldn’t necessarily pick to use? [name_f][/name_f] I know until this year I only had a top 20 so my last 5 names were usually names I liked but either not enough to use as first names, or didn’t like as first names enough to make my actual list. Again, I would find it interesting to somehow see who lives where when giving the names. I have no idea how you’d label that or keep track of that. But I feel like some names are very common in the UK and others are very common in the US and so on.

The girls’ list isn’t necessarily filled with unique names, but the names on there lean more modern/second-tier classic. Proof that girls’ names go in and out of fashion faster.
