Names for Aliens...?

For right-now reference and future reference, I think I need some unusual, alien-ish names. I am a sci-fi fan, after all, and what’s a better example of sci-fi than aliens? So I’m looking for outer-space names that can have human nicknames that will blend in on [name_f]Earth[/name_f]–preferably short nicknames (like, not full names). Just generally long, extravagant names are good–or short and unusual names.
Examples:
[name_f]Kinzie[/name_f] (which I guess you could say is short for [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u])
Anneson ([name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Annie[/name_f])
Stormageddon ([name_f]Stormy[/name_f]) (Sorry I just loved "Stormageddon from Doctor Who–and my aunt wants me to name any future son I have Stormageddon…)

Sorry I’m not good with guy names, but I guess Anneson could be a guy or girl name.

Stormageddon is a [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who character - not sure whether you know that or not, or whether it matters.

Besides that… what sort of aliens are we talking about? Humanoid? Reptilian? Warrior culture? Aquatic? Caste system? If you can, you might want to consider how their biology and culture would affect their naming system, or at least include a few consistent patterns (all three syllables, female names end in -ip, no T sound, etc.) Give me some details and I’d be glad to help.

For examples, look at [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars: the growly, repeated letters of Wookiee names, the three part dashed names of Cereans, and so on.
