I want [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] as a nickname if i ever have another girl and was wondering if it works for [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] oldest is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and gets called [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. I was wondering what other names [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] can be a nickname for but I dont like out there names or names like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] or [name_f]Emmiline[/name_f] or [name_f]Emily[/name_f] personally.
I think it’s works.
I think it makes sense. You could also do a middle starting with E, so her initials would M.E and when you say that out loud it sounds like [name_f]Emmy[/name_f].
Maybe something like [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
Names with nn [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]:
[name_f]Emerald[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
It could work - maybe with an E middle name, so it’s like M.E?
A few other ideas:
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f]
[name_u]Esme[/name_u]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
I might be missing something but [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] to [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] seems to be a major and unintuitive stretch to me. I would think [name_f]Maddy[/name_f], [name_u]Mattie[/name_u], [name_f]Della[/name_f] or [name_u]Lyn[/name_u] - maybe spelling it [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] could help so there’s an E in there.
Possible long names for [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] besides the ones you listed:
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmanuella[/name_f] / [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Emogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] / [name_f]Noemie[/name_f]
Emmabeth
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
[name_f]Emelyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f]
or as a wildcard:
Ambrosia/Amalia/Amelia nn [name_f]Amy[/name_f] or [name_f]Ammy[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Emmy[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] & [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Emily[/name_f] together though!
[name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] to [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] works because in Australia at least we pronounce m as em so its more like mmy but with the e because thats how we pronounce it
It works, especially with an “E” middle!! Would you like suggestions for one?
I could get behind it with a middle initial of E (M.E. → Emmy) but otherwise it doesn’t feel very intuitive and would feel forced to me. [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] would likely be shortened to Madi/Maddie; I wouldn’t think of [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] at all.
Yes please also some other first names
Emora
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
ok! how about…
madilyn emmanuelle
madilyn evangeline
madilyn eirene
madilyn eve
madilyn elizabeth
madilyn ella
madilyn eliza
madilyn esme (ez-may)
madilyn eleanor
for emmy…
emmeline (emma-leen)
emmanuelle
emma
emilia / amelia
emery / emory
ember
esme
emelda
clementine
noemi
jemma / gemma
esmeralda

I have to agree with @EloiseT I struggle to see how Emmy relates to Madilyn. I find the nickname even with an E middle name very stretchy and I would say Maddie even with the E middle name is more intuitive. I also love @EloiseT suggestions!
Also I know that @EloiseT is Australian so I would assume it’s the same pronunciation which makes me more inclined to say it’s a little stretchy. However as a Brit I’m not sure if certain pronunciations are different depending where you are within Australia. Either way I know some nicknames can be stretchy so if you feel it’ll work for you and your family go for it
The obvious…Emma, [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
Less obvious…Gemma, [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f], [name_u]Ember[/name_u], [name_f]Emberly[/name_f], [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], [name_f]Anemone[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Aurembiaix[/name_f], [name_f]Emala[/name_f], [name_f]Emmanuella[/name_f], [name_f]Emeraude[/name_f], [name_f]Emeria[/name_f], [name_f]Emina[/name_f], [name_f]Emira[/name_f], [name_u]Lemmitty[/name_u], [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], [name_f]Naemi[/name_f], [name_f]Memory[/name_f], [name_f]Poem[/name_f], [name_u]Salem[/name_u], [name_f]Semara[/name_f], [name_f]Willemina[/name_f],
If [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] had a middle name beginning with E I think it could work so you would have ME “Emmy”
But [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] on it’s own is stretchy [name_f]Maddie[/name_f], [name_f]Addie[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] are more intuitive to me
