I saw a ‘hot list’ for blonde babies and was wondering if there are any names out there you associate more with redheads, or that a redhead could best pull off? What do you think Berries?
Girls:
[name]Poppy[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Scarlet[/name], [name]Sienna[/name], [name]Ember[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Lola[/name]
Boys:
Gilroy, [name]Cohen[/name], [name]Reid[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Finian[/name], [name]Keagan[/name]
For either-
[name]Rory[/name]: [name]Red[/name] [name]King[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]: [name]Little[/name] red one.
[name]Ginger[/name]!
[name]Penelope[/name] will always be a red head in my heart.
[name]Sorcha[/name] (Sor-Sha) it is irish for ‘bright and shining’
[name]Caroline[/name]!
I think I’ll pass on [name]Ginger[/name]…but I liked a lot of the other suggestions! I especially liked the meaning of [name]Rowan[/name]. Too bad we’re not Irish/Scottish/Welsh. I almost feel like it might be false advertising to give a redheaded child an Irish name when he/she is not Irish in heritage.
On the other hand…the Irish have some pretty cool names - like [name]Finola[/name]!
I agree totally! My [name]SIL[/name] thinks she’s Irish just because she has red hair. She goes all out too. Her kids have irish names, her fave holiday is [name]St[/name]. [name]Patty[/name]'s day, she plans tons of trips to [name]Ireland[/name] to visit “where she’s from”. rolls eyes She’s just as Irish as her brother (my husband and even he thinks its ridiculous). I think I’m more irish than she is, and I’m a brunette! lol.
That said, there’s nothing wrong with giving your child an Irish name if thats the name you love! There are plenty obviously non-irish people out there who have irish names, so if you like a name you shouldn’t limit yourself just so people think you are claiming something you aren’t!
(unless, if you are like my [name]SIL[/name], your goal actually IS trying to claim something you aren’t! lol). I heart my [name]SIL[/name], but its all true.
Well, my Great-Aunt’s name was [name]Rose[/name] and she happened to be a redhead! I don’t know if that was done on purpose or not. I always associate [name]Rory[/name] with redheads, and [name]Ginger[/name], but that’s kind of overkill. There’s also [name]Redmond[/name] and [name]Redford[/name], and [name]Scarlett[/name] for a girl, but again, those are kind of obvious. Some names that literally mean [name]Red[/name]:
[name]Rhys[/name] - firey (fire is kind of red, lol)
[name]Adam[/name] - son of the red earth
[name]Arusha[/name] - red in sanskrit
[name]Phoenix[/name] - dark red
[name]Radcliff[/name] - red cliff
[name]Radley[/name] - red meadow
[name]Clancy[/name] - red-haired warrior
[name]Flannery[/name] - red-haired
[name]Reed[/name] - red-haired
[name]Roone[/name]/[name]Rooney[/name]- red haired
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I’ve always been suspicious of people posting about wanting a name reflecting their “heritage.” I feel like in [name]America[/name] you’re either the child of immigrants, or so mixed like me that it’s ridiculous to say (in my case) my heritage is English/Scottish/Irish/French/[name]German[/name]/Austrian
And that’s only one side of my family tree I’ve researched.
[name]Robin[/name] ([name]Robyn[/name])
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]ANNIE[/name]!
I know a little girl with tight red curls and her name is [name]Emma[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. It suits her perfectly.
I don’t understand. What is ridiculous about saying that you’re heritage is English/Scottish/Irish/French/[name]German[/name]/Austrian if that what it is?
[name]Piper[/name]!
[name]Piper[/name]!
[name]Annie[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] (American Girls series I guess)
[name]Maggie[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
I know the best red headed little girl and her name is [name]Justine[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]… she was named after her grandmother ([name]Ruby[/name]) before she was even born and she was born a week late so her birth stone is also ruby.
So I think [name]Justine[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] will always be associated with a red head!
