Names from “The Notebook” that confuse the heck out of me!

Ok, haven’t watched the movie in a while, but I just remembered that the guy in The Notebook is named Lon. At first I thought it was Lawn… lol. I can’t believe I’ve never noticed this before? What would this be a short name for besides Alonso? I sort of love it.

Also the child… at the end… Noah and Allie’s child…is named Daviney? I always thought it was so cute but I really don’t think it’s a real name. Has anyone else noticed this?!

Also after looking into it, Lonzo is actually a name. Is that even a usable name?

I’ve actually heard the name [name_m]Lon[/name_m] before as a full name. It can be a nickname, but not always.

Super interesting!! Sort of like… Ned. Haha

It really is cute!

I haven’t seen the movie in a long time, but I thought it was Davanee? [name_m]Lon[/name_m] is definitely a name and can be a nickname or not.

My husband was saying he knew a Lon growing up. I’ve never met one!

Is Davanee a name? :joy: I’ve tried looking up multiple spellings in the past and didn’t get very far!

[name_m]Lon[/name_m] makes me think of [name_m]Lon[/name_m] [name_u]Chaney[/name_u] (full name Leonidas)

Yes, my great-aunt’s husband was named [name_m]Lon[/name_m]. I believe it was his full name.

Davanee is one of the many spellings. Daveney was the name of a student I taught, who everyone called [name_m]Davy[/name_m].
