Oh my, I love all of these! [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_m]Idris[/name_m] are my favourite firsts, but the combination [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] has totally won me over. So handsome!

I love [name_m]Idris[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]! [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is quite nice too. Honestly the only one I don’t love is [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u]. It’s a perfectly fine combo I just don’t like either name as well as I like your other options.

I voted for [name_m]Idris[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u] but these are all very nice.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_m]Idris[/name_m] are amazing!! I enjoy the combos as they are but [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] would be nice too

Thanks, everyone! I’m kind of glad there isn’t a clear winner because I also love them all. [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is my favorite. My husband loves [name_u]Asa[/name_u] but thinks we need a better middle name for it. [name_m]Idris[/name_m] we both find appealing partly because of its multiethnic origins (and it has an awesome meaning in Arabic - “interpreter”). [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] used to be our favorite but we’ve lately gotten more excited about these other possibilities.

I’m so glad you feel this way, and this was exactly my husband’s reaction! [name_m]Hart[/name_m] has long been my favorite boy name, but my husband was ambivalent until I found [name_m]Julian[/name_m] to pair it with - he loves the mystic [name_m]Julian[/name_m] of Norwich and it was a connection he had with his late mother. So now he is on board, but we’ll see because he also loves some of the others.

I’m struggling mightily with [name_u]Asa[/name_u] as a name.

Are you pronouncing it with:

1. the a in at [æsa],
2. the a in la [asa], or
3. the a in ate [eisa]

If you’re giving it the a in at, it sounds too close to ass for comfort. I think you’re going to run into schoolyard trouble. And because you’ve got three standard pronunciations of A, it’s going to up the number of times your son will need to correct his name (or endure a mispronunciation). That’s not that big a deal, but something to consider.

[name_m]Ansel[/name_m] feels like the stronger bet to me.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] is a not-uncommon Biblical name. It’s pronounced [name_m]ACE[/name_m]-a and I doubt anyone I know will find it weird. I know several people named [name_u]Asa[/name_u]. [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] would be considered much “weirder” and is much less common.
