Names in songs

I thought I would have a go at a name game with names in songs. There are just so many names that crop up, so the idea is to give one name and the song it comes from.

As it is close to [name_u]Christmas[/name_u], I will start with a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] Song, (no not with the most obvious names). but any name and its song will do, quote the line is even better, but not necessary.

[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] from Angels we have heard on high. Name in chorus [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] in excelsis Deo

Oh, I have so many! How to narrow it down :joy:

One of my favorites is [name_u]Avery[/name_u], in the song Dear [name_u]Avery[/name_u] by The Decemberists. The name is said many times in the song, it’s from the perspective of a parent worrying about their son who has gone off to war, and how they miss when [name_u]Avery[/name_u] was little and they could always protect him

Barney - It’s Beginning To Look A [name_f]Lot[/name_f] Like [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]

A pair of Hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots is the wish of [name_m]Barney[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m].

Noel
From ‘The first [name_u]Noel[/name_u]’

Shepherd

I’m pretty sure this is featured in multiple [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] songs, but Away In A Manger is one.

Jolene, in [name_f]Jolene[/name_f] - [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_m]Parton[/name_m]! I love this song.

Michael
This name is in two songs that I know of.
Message to [name_u]Michael[/name_u] by [name_f]Dionne[/name_f] [name_m]Warwick[/name_m] and
[name_u]Michael[/name_u] rowed the boat ashore, a popular song in the 1950’s.
