This might be something of a challenge. [name_m]Brown[/name_m] is a family surname, but I’m not wild about it as a given name. I’d like to find a few girl names that are, for lack of a better term, inspired by [name_m]Brown[/name_m]. Names that mean brown, sound like brown, shades of brown, something like that. So far I have [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Bruna[/name_f], but they both feel very gruff to me. Any ideas?
ha, I remember reading the back of a bunch of CDs when I was a teenager, and most of them were produced by this man named Brown Bannister. No joke. Apparently his FN was [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]–who knows why he wouldn’t go by that?! Anything’s got to be better than [name_m]Brown[/name_m] Bannister lol.
I actually like [name_f]Bruna[/name_f] a lot, for sentimental reasons–I interned at my high school when I was in college, and there was this sweet kid there when I interned, and her name was [name_f]Bruna[/name_f]. She was Brazilian and bubbly and friendly and genuinely nice. I’d love to meet another such lovely one with the name!
[name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] is lovely, too! I never would have thought [name_m]Brown[/name_m] = [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], but it totally works. Maybe a shade of brown, too? Some of my first thoughts were [name_f]Amber[/name_f], [name_f]Russet[/name_f], Chestnut, [name_f]Topaz[/name_f], [name_f]Tawny[/name_f], [name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]… I think some of them could be usable as a middle? Plus [name_f]Brina[/name_f] is a Yiddish name meaning “brown”. Although it reminds me more of [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] than “brown”. 
I think I like your [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Bruna[/name_f] more than anything I’ve come up with, though.

Hmm…maybe [name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]? NB lists its meaning as “reddish brown.”

In the color vein, [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] can be in the brown family (burnt sienna is reddish brown).

Might be too much of a stretch, but it came to mind.

What about [name_f]Coco[/name_f]?
[name_u]Sandy[/name_u], maple, or autumn might be a nod to [name_m]Brown[/name_m] as well.
Fwiw I love surnames as middle names when they honor family.
