Thanks, [name]Nicole[/name]! I [name]LOVE[/name] both [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Julius[/name], but do they sound too similar to [name]Luca[/name] (with the long u sound in the first syllable)? [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] have been off and on our lists as well.
What we like about [name]August[/name]: like [name]Luca[/name],it has ancient roots, but feels modern and light. [name]Lucian[/name] and [name]Augustus[/name] are a bit too formal for us, but [name]Luca[/name] and [name]August[/name] feel a little more laid back. Same goes for [name]Hugo[/name]. I really do love [name]Hugo[/name], it was high on my list when pregnant the first time. But I’m also worried about them being called [name]Huey[/name] and [name]Louie[/name]. Am I over-thinking it?
You’re welcome! I think [name]Hugo[/name] sounds best with [name]Luca[/name] since they both have a more exotic feel than [name]August[/name] or [name]Julius[/name]. And yes, I think you are over thinking it. 
What about [name]Austin[/name] or [name]Douglas[/name]?

They kind of have that same gentle, yet masculine feel as [name]Luca[/name].
[name]How[/name] about [name]Augustin[/name]? Not as formal as [name]Augustus[/name] and not as mint julupy as [name]Augustine[/name], but without the constant “Was he born in [name]August[/name]?” queries.
I’ve always liked [name]Micah[/name], but we now know two his age (and I think it might be a bit too close to [name]Luca[/name]). I think part of why the second baby is harder to name is that you know so many more kids!
[name]Augustin[/name] is really nice, but our last name ends with -an so that has eliminated a lot of names for us. [name]Luca[/name] would have likely been [name]Simon[/name] otherwise (though I can’t imagine that on him now). I do worry about the month thing with [name]August[/name]. Then again, growing up people always called me [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Bolivia[/name] and I can’t say it did any lasting damage 
What about [name]Arlo[/name]? He was our second favorite for a long time…might be growing on me again. I’ve also thought about [name]Abel[/name], but calling him [name]Abe[/name].
I’ve never liked [name]Arlo[/name]. It sounds like a dog name to me. I do like [name]Abel[/name] though! Very strong name. [name]Abe[/name] is cute!
